Elvis Impersonator at Walmart Serenades Elderly Woman in Heartwarming Video

Share

When we listen to music, we often can feel the words and the emotions that the artist is singing. The songs can be so powerful as they take control of what we feel in that moment.

We all have that one song that takes us back to a certain moment in our lives. It can be painful or hard, but it can also be a happy memory and a time of hope.

Don Luper, a shopper at an Arkansas Walmart, captured the moment when a song took one woman back in time.

As Luper was buying supplies for Memorial Day weekend events, he noticed an Elvis impersonator by the checkout lanes, dressed in the white rhinestone suit that everyone remembers.

The impersonator walked around the area, singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to the customers that waited in line to check out.

He noticed a bald man and jokingly started to serenade the back of his head. This created every customer to laugh as he patted the man’s head and continued on his walk.

Then, the Elvis impersonator noticed an elderly woman in a motorized shopping cart and walked over to her.

She started to sing with the man, and she reached out for his hand. The impersonator took her hand, and they sang the song together.

Luper was in a trance as he watched the two sing together. “It seemed like the lady was taken back in time and was singing to the King himself — it had clearly made her day,” he said.

The other customers also enjoyed watching the moment between the impersonator and the elderly woman.

“The other customers around me couldn’t believe what they were seeing; they seemed like they were in love with the moment,” Luper said.

Luper explained how the moment reminded him of his grandmother, who was a big Elvis fan. He loved seeing that Elvis still has fans that love him and his music today.

After the woman and the impersonator finished the song, he gave her his blue scarf and kissed her on the cheek. She thanked him for the wonderful moment, and it was easy to see he made her day.
