Firefighters Rescue Santa After 'Reindeer' Leave Him Stranded on Rooftop

Share

It’s that time of the year again when Santa makes the rounds to deliver presents to all the good little boys and girls.

While Santa’s trusty reindeer are relied on to get him from house to house during the holidays, they are occasionally a little forgetful about what their mission really entails.

When Santa was checking in at the Firefighter’s Museum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Dec. 2, he was in for a real surprise, according to WPTA.

Reindeer dropped Santa off on the roof of the museum and were suddenly nowhere in sight.

The reindeer decided it was time to head off for their lunch break, leaving jolly old Saint Nick stuck on top of the museum with no way to get down.

Thankfully for Santa, he was in the right place and the local fire department was soon on their way to rescue him with sirens blaring.

Using one of their faithful trucks, the fire department lifted a 95-foot ladder all the way up to Santa to help him find his way down.

The stunning rescue was all captured on video, complete with children watching on in awe and glee.

Santa can be heard saying to the fireman that was saving him, “Looks like he is doing a good job.” And he most certainly was!

The firefighter ever so gently helped Santa onto the ladder and lowered it down to the street level as the crown of onlookers cheered on.

Santa was so grateful for the lift he begged the crowd for one more round of applause for the fireman that saved him.

Santa even decided to stay for a while and visit with the children that stopped to say hello while at the museum. Pictures with Santa were taken as hot chocolate, coffee, hot dogs and popcorn were enjoyed by all.

The Santa rescue is an annual event in Fort Wayne that raises money for museum’s Fire Prevention Program.
