First Study of Its Kind on White Cops Steamrolls 'Racist Police' Narrative

Share

It’s no secret that the left hates police officers. Especially in a post-Colin Kaepernick age, liberals hold nearly no respect for law enforcement officers.

Anti-police rallying cries usually circle around accusations of systematic racism and injustice ingrained in these police officers and the criminal justice system.

However, bombshell research from Michigan State University and the University of Maryland is cutting that narrative down to size.

“Until now,” MSU professor Joseph Cesario said to Phys.org, “there’s never been a systematic, nationwide study to determine the characteristics of police involved in fatal officer-involved shootings. There are so many examples of people saying that when black citizens are shot by police, it’s white officers shooting them.”

“In fact, our findings show no support for the idea that white officers are biased in shooting black citizens.”

The study focused on every documented police shooting since 2015, with Cesario and his team utilizing various databases. They also reached out to police departments to get the race, sex and years of experience for every officer involved in a given shooting.

This may come as a shock to race-baiters like Shaun King, who honestly seem to believe that the police are a racially-charged murder squad. King has over one million followers on Twitter that see this hateful language.

Do you think this study will have any impact on the left's war on cops?

Unfortunately for Shaun King and others like him, the facts simply don’t support the lies they’ve been pushing.

“We found that the race of the officer doesn’t matter when it comes to predicting whether black or white citizens are shot. If anything, black officers are more likely to shoot black citizens, but this is because black officers are drawn from the same population that they police,” Cesario said.

There it is, plain as day.

Instead of police being a racist force dispatched to execute minorities, the facts point to cops being balanced and disciplined across the board and regardless of their own race.

But if cops are not executing blacks and other minorities, how do officer-involved shootings happen in the first place?

“We found that crime rates are the driving force behind fatal shootings,” said Cesario.

“If you live in a county that has a lot of white people committing crimes, white people are more likely to be shot. If you live in a county that has a lot of black people committing crimes, black people are more likely to be shot.”

According to the study, as many as 95% of people fatally shot by cops were already attacking officers or bystanders when the firing started.

With leftists icons and mainstream media groups both profiting from the radically untrue “racist cop” narrative, it’s unlikely this groundbreaking study will change the way they react to police shootings.
