Geraldo Cut Avenatti Down to Size and the Creepy Porn Lawyer Was Not Happy About It

Share

Geraldo Rivera slammed Michael Avenatti, the creepy lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels, for his failed defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump.

A court ruled Tuesday that Daniels must pay $293,052 in Trump’s legal fees as a result of her devastating loss in court.

The lawsuit stemmed from Trump’s reaction to Daniels’ claim that he used a hired thug to silence her.

Trump slammed her accusation as a “total con job,” which prompted the lawsuit.

Fortunately for Trump, Judge S. James Otero ruled that his statements were “rhetorical hyperbole” protected under the First Amendment, and now Daniels has been ordered to pay his legal fees.

Rivera blasted Avenatti on Twitter for pursuing the case and losing his client nearly $300,000.

“Ambitious unscrupulous sleaze bag porn lawyer (Michael Avenatti) should pay the entire amount in fees — hundreds of thousands — now levied vs his unsuspecting client,” Rivera tweeted Wednesday morning.

Should Avenatti pay for Daniels' legal fees?

While I don’t want to defend Daniels, Rivera is correct that Avenatti’s client was “unsuspecting.”

Daniels said last month that Avenatti pursued the defamation case without her permission.

“He has spoken on my behalf without my approval. He filed a defamation case against Donald Trump against my wishes,” she said last month.

The amount lost from the lawsuit is roughly half of the money raised by Daniels to cover legal fees during her crowdfunding campaign.

It’s only fair that Avenatti should cover the bill after pursuing the case against her wishes, but he wasn’t happy to hear Rivera’s take on the situation, making a reference to the nothingburger that was Rivera’s much-hyped opening of gangster Al Capone’s secret vault on live TV in 1986.

“Hey dirtbag, pay attention. This isn’t some Al Capone vault situation. It’s a serious matter. So try and get your facts straight. Just once,” Avenatti replied to Rivera, who is also an attorney.

Rivera shot back by calling Avenatti a “self-serving piece of s–t” before asking if he was going to pay Daniels’ legal fees.

Avenatti didn’t respond to Rivera’s question, but I think we already know the answer, especially in light of Avenatti’s other high-profile financial miscues.

In other words, don’t expect Avenatti to take responsibility for his disaster.
