It certainly doesn’t happen every day, but some guests witnessed the amazing miracle of a mama giraffe giving birth as they cruised through Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

“BREAKING! The baby giraffe is being birthed on a Kilimanjaro Safaris!!!” Kenny the Pirate, a Walt Disney World expert and character finder, wrote on Facebook.

Have you ever seen a wild animal birth?

At first, I couldn’t tell what I was looking at, but on a second view, I noticed those tiny hooves sticking out. This is amazing!

Other guests witnessed the live labor and posted about it as well, sharing their joy and excitement over the once in a lifetime experience.

“Just saw a baby Giraffe being born at Disney Animal Kingdom,” Daniel Schomer wrote on Facebook. He included several photos that are too adorable to miss.

Haley from @haleywoodstudios caught some of the action, too. The safari guide looked on as the experience unfolded right in front of her.

“Hi, just letting you all know that I got to see a 7 minute old baby giraffe yesterday,” she wrote on Instagram. “And @suttonsabrina & @dartuso got pictures of me silently losing my mind.”

Walt Disney World in the Community reported that the mama and baby are doing well. “We’re thrilled to welcome the newest member of the Animal Kingdom Family!” they wrote on Facebook.

“Mom, Mara, gave birth to a Masai giraffe calf today around 2 p.m. on the Kilimanjaro Safari Savanna. Mom and calf are bonding well and we hope to share more details soon!”

This is truly a sight to behold and is certainly something you won’t find at any other theme park. Perhaps a zoo, if you’re lucky, but the zoo is missing one very important thing: Disney magic.

Yes, experiences such as these fit well within the happiest parks on earth. These guests won’t soon forget the day they witnessed a baby giraffe born on ground sprinkled with pixie dust.
