High Schoolers Sing 'Down to the River To Pray' from Hotel Balconies in Chilling Video

Share

Everyone has their own taste in music. Some like rap, others like hip hop, and still others prefer classical. We all have our favorite artists and genres.

But there is something to be said for the sound of a live choir. Young or old, millennial or baby boomer, a choir has a way of moving us to pause and listen.

One choir from Colorado has a sound all their own. Their voices are chilling, and no matter your favorite radio station or playlist, the Colorado All State Choir appeals to every ear.

A beautiful video of this choir was shared on Facebook. As these fine individuals sang “Down to the River To Pray” from the balconies at the Hilton Fort Collins, their voices filled the building — and the result is incredible.

According to Chris Maunu, who also shared the video, 34 of his Arvada West high school choir students took part in this “balcony sing,” joining others from across the state.

This isn’t the first time the Colorado All State Choir has performed on these balconies, of course. Performing at the venue is a tradition, one many look forward to each year, no doubt.

Take a look at the All State Women’s Choir balcony sing from 2018. Their voices are like something from a dream.

Have you attended a live choir performance before?

These videos have been viewed millions of times. No matter how many times you listen, you can’t help but want to play it again.

Even the choir directors have their own chorus. They may not be singing from the balconies, but their voices are just as haunting.

Wow! No wonder the choirs perform so well. Under the direction of these talented directors, who could expect they’d be anything but perfect?

The mixed choir’s performance from 2018 might just be my personal favorite. Their rendition of Josu Elberdin’s “Ubi Caritas” is something to behold.

Have you ever heard anything like this? I certainly haven’t, at least not up close. How amazing would it be to attend one of these balcony sings?
