The ridiculous special interest story of the week has been the “Trump baby balloon” — the blimp of the president as a baby that’s planned to fly over Parliament briefly during Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom this week. It’s clearly the kind of dignified and nuanced reaction one expects the left to engage in.
However, not everyone is celebrating Trump’s visit with crude balloons. In fact, one London pub is changing its name in honor of America’s 45th president visit to the United Kingdom, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday.
According to the Evening Standard, London businessman Damien Smyth is changing the name of his pub — usually known as The Jameson — to The Trump Arms for the president’s visit.
Smyth, who runs the pub in the west London district of Hammersmith, will also be throwing a “Welcome Trump” party to celebrate the president’s arrival.
“Guests will be treated to a BBQ with hot dogs and cheeseburgers, reported to be served up at the White House for the President,” the Standard reported. “These will be washed down with Trump-themed cocktails. Costumes, music and banners will help create the atmosphere of a Trump campaign rally.”
“There are many Trump supporters around here who will be happy to see it,” the Irish-born Smyth told the newspaper. “I was talking to regulars who are looking forward to the visit and I said, ‘Let’s set up The Trump Arms while he is here.’”
Breitbart also reported that Smyth, who is married to a native New Yorker, aims “to show solidarity with the U.S. people and the president.”
“We’re the greatest friends in the world and natural buddies,” Smyth said, according to Breitbart.
“We want to show solidarity. We want to thank Trump for making the world safe again.”

Smyth also said he wanted to prove that the residents of ol’ Blighty “are not all crazy protesters.”
“It’s so important to let people know we’re old family and old friends,”
Smyth isn’t the only one celebrating Trump’s visit to Albion with a shindig. Parliament Street think tank CEO Patrick Sullivan is also organizing The Art of the Party — a shout-out to Trump’s “The Art of the Deal,” obviously. He said he’s said massive interest from around the U.K.
“The number of Trump supporters is quite something,” Sullivan told Breitbart.“There is interest coming from up and down the country.”
“We wanted to show that the negative press put out by Sadiq Khan doesn’t represent the whole of London or the country,” he added.
Khan, the mayor of London and a frequent Twitter opponent of the president, has said that Trump is not welcome in London and that his visit should be “cancelled.” Khan is also responsible for approving the big baby balloon, because clearly we’re dealing with a man every bit as mature as his cohort.
Well, hey. Balloon or no balloon, whatever. Trump fans are going to be too busy celebrating the president at The Trump Arms to care.
