Infamous Rapper Admits White Cop Saved His Life When Black Friends Wouldn't

Though known primarily for the filthy lyrics of his gangster rap songs, rapper Lil Wayne does, amazingly enough, have a much deeper side to him that America got to see on full display during an extraordinary interview two years ago.

In that interview with The Associated Press, Lil Wayne explained why he personally views the world with colorblind eyes and feels that “no such thing as racism” exists — at least not for him.

He specifically recalled a traumatizing incident in which he accidentally shot himself in the chest as a 12-year-old boy in 1995. Instead of being saved by his black friends, however, he wound up being saved by a white cop.

“I was in the house, police knocked on the door, I was right there, they knocked the door down, everybody jumped over my body to go get the guns and drugs and whatever they could find,” he recounted.

“It took one guy to stop right there and cuss everybody that hopped over me out, saying, ‘What the f*** are you doing!?'”

That man was a white New Orleans police officer whom the rapper has since dubbed “Uncle Bob.” Not only did “Uncle Bob” admonish everyone else for abandoning Lil Wayne, but he then followed along as the authorities rushed Wayne to the hospital. And even once they arrived, he still stuck around til the last minute.

“(He) stood there and waited until the doctor said, ‘He’s gonna make it,'” Lil Wayne recalled.

Do you agree that Obama could learn something from Lil Wayne?

“He was white as snow,” the rapper added. “Them motherf***ers that hopped over me were blacker than me. Yeah, he was a cop, and my life was saved by a white man. I don’t know what racism is. I know a good motherf***er named Uncle Bob, though.”

It sounds like Lil Wayne learned an important lesson that day: Men should “not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character,” as Martin Luther King Jr. once said during the height of the civil rights era decades ago.

That even a gangster rapper like Lil Wayne sees eye to eye with MLK on racism should astound Americans, for the simple fact that so many more “esteemed” men have yet to learn this lesson.

Included among them is former President Barack Obama, whose education includes degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Law School.

For a man with such credentials, Obama has frequently used a broad brush to paint all people of a certain race in a certain manner.

Recall how, while speaking to a crowd of wealthy California donors during the Democrat primary elections in 2008, “Obama took a shot at explaining the mostly white voters in … once-booming Pennsylvania industrial towns” who felt frustrated with government.

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and … the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them … (a)nd it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,” he said, as reported by The Washington Post.

Some of those “bitter” clingers were likely warmhearted men just like “Uncle Bob,” not that Obama cared or would ever know, since in his mind all white people were the same.

Frankly, it sounds to me like gangster rapper Lil Wayne could teach Obama a thing or two.

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know what you think about the fact that Lil Wayne has more wisdom regarding racism than people like Barack Obama.
