Reporter Learns the Hard Way Not To Interrupt the Donald, Gets Blindsided by Response

Share

A reporter who tried to interrupt President Donald Trump during a news conference found out the hard way that interrupting the Donald isn’t a good idea during an impromptu news conference on Friday. Now, the media is up in arms.

The remark came after the president was interviewed by “Fox & Friends” Friday; that wide-ranging interview touched on everything from Kim Jong Un and the Singapore summit to the president’s birthday.

Afterward, he decided to meet with reporters for a few minutes to field some questions. North Korea, as you can imagine, was at the top of the agenda

“I want to have a good relationship with North Korea,” Trump said. “I want to have a good relationship with many other countries. And what I have done, if you remember, if you are fair, which most of you aren’t … but if you are fair, when I came in, people thought we were probably going to war with North Korea.”

Apparently, one reporter began yelling a question at him, which earned the opprobrium of the president with just three words: “Quiet. Quiet. Quiet,” Trump said as he held out his hand.

“If we did, millions of people would have been killed,” Trump continued.

Do you think Donald Trump should have shut down this reporter?

It’s unknown who the reporter who was asking the question was. However, if another confrontation from the same press conference is any indication, it was CBS News’ Wejia Jiang.

When Jiang yelled a question at him, he responded, “Quiet!” That was followed by, “She’s so obnoxious. Quiet.”

This quickly led to charges of sexism.

Jiang was more than willing to back up these charges.

However, she did add this:

Yeah, and likely for the last time. The media has made little attempt to hide their contempt for the president, as evinced by the fact that he tried to quiet a shouting reporter and instead gets accused of sexism simply because of her gender. (At least in this department, I can tell you that Trump is very much equal opportunity.) I don’t quite see why the president would decide to subject himself to this more than he has to.

On the other hand, it’s a great opportunity to tell a few reporters to be quiet.
