Powerful: Video Shows Grieving Mom Offer Illegal Alien Trucker Forgiveness Over Son's Death: 'I Pray for You'

Maybe this is why they’re called “angel families.”

The mother of a man killed with his new bride last year by an illegal alien in an Oregon traffic crash confronted the foreign national in a powerful video published Monday by Fox News.

And while fury and vengeance might have been on most people’s minds, Elizabeth Carter’s words were exactly the opposite.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin, who posted the video released by the federal government to his account on the social media platform X, did not describe the circumstances of the meeting in detail, saying only that it had taken place “earlier this month.”

The immigrant — Rajinder Kumar — was being transferred from the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to Oregon state authorities to face manslaughter charges and other charges.

ICE agents granted Carter access to Kumar during the transfer, Fox News reported.

“Hello, Mr. Kumar,” Carter said.  “My name is Elizabeth Carter; I’m William Micah Carter’s mother,” she told Kumar, choking with emotion.

“And I wanted you to know that I pray for you and your family, I know you didn’t get up that morning planning to kill two newlyweds. And I know your family is going through something important, too.”

Kumar, 32, gazed at her without response.

At the time of the crash, Kumar had jackknifed the tractor-trailer he was driving across both lanes of U.S. Highway 20 in Deschutes County, Oregon, according to Fox. He was had a commercial driver’s license issued by the state of California.

Carter’s son, William, and his new wife, Jennifer, had been married only 16 days at the time.

Carter’s demeanor during her meeting with Kumar doesn’t mean she’s not passionate about her son’s death — and reducing the chances that it can happen to others.

In September, she testified before Congress, demanding mass deportation of illegal aliens who entered the country during the administration of former President Joe Biden. Kumar, an Indian national, was one of them.

According to Fox News, Kumar entered the country in 2022. He was released by the Biden administration and later given work authorization and the ultimately deadly driver’s license he received from California.

Plenty of comments on the Carter video were furious about that background.

“Angel Families” has become a term widely adopted for the survivors of victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens. It is also the name of an organization founded by a naturalized American citizen whose son was killed by an illegal alien in 2002.

But Carter’s behavior while meeting with her son’s killer might have given the term a whole new twist.

“She’s a better person than I am,” one commenter wrote.
