Violent Criminal Who Was Set Free on Plea Deal Arrested After Horrific Attacks on Random Women
A North Carolina man whose criminal record goes back 14 years has been arrested after he was linked to multiple assaults on women.
Diquan Hunt, who is currently in a medical facility, will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said, according to WSOC-TV.
Videos from an Instagram page police believe is linked to Hunt show several instances in which women were attacked.

In one, a woman walking with a balloon in her hand fell to the ground after being punched. Police said she suffered serious injuries.

WCNC-TV listed Hunt’s criminal record dating back to 2012. Hunt is now 32, which would mean he was 18 when he first clashed with the justice system.
Hunt had been convicted in March of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with a December 2025 incident. But he was set free after a judge decided the sentence of 89 days in jail had already been served as Hunt was awaiting trial.
In December, Hunt was arrested on a second-degree trespass charge that was dropped in February. That followed a November charge of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. After his December conviction, he was set free on the grounds that his six-day sentence had already been served while awaiting trial.

In September, Hunt was arrested for simple assault and disorderly conduct. The assault charge was dropped when Hunt was convicted of disorderly conduct in November. His 11-day sentence was waived due to time already served.
In August 2024, Hunt was arrested for breaking or entering, injury to personal property, and misdemeanor probation violation. After his conviction on all charges, he went free having already served his 90 days while awaiting trial.
In July 2020, Hunt’s sentence was suspended after being convicted on charges of discharging a weapon in an occupied property and felony probation violation from a June 2019 incident.
Other charges from June 2019 of discharging a firearm in the city and injury to personal property were dismissed.
In July 2017 and November 2017, Hunt was arrested for violating a domestic violence protective order. The case was dismissed each time.
In November 2017, July 2017, and December 2012, Hunt was arrested for assaulting a female. All three cases were dismissed.
