Watch Adorable 3-Year-Old Boy Sing National Anthem at Baseball Game and Nail It

Editor’s Note: The following is one of the Western Journal’s most popular patriotic-themed stories, re-posted in honor of Independence Day.

The national anthem. It’s a major part of who we are and how we’ve gotten here, and yet so many people don’t know the words.

Fortunately, there are people out there who still teach their kids the song, and there are plenty of talented kids who sing well and do the anthem proud.

Take this little guy, for example. He may not be singing the words (he probably doesn’t even know what those are yet), but he gets the heart and soul of the matter.

He’s not the only kiddo who loves the National Anthem, though. One 3-year-old named Drake, in Auburn, New York, has the song committed to memory.

That’s probably at least partly because he loves baseball, and baseball is almost as American as the National Anthem.

Drake is a major fan of a minor league team known as the Auburn Doubledays, and the team loves him back. They asked their biggest little fan to do a favor for them recently.

They asked him if he could sing the national anthem before a game.

It wasn’t planned, Drake didn’t have weeks to practice for the big day, he just walked up there with the confidence that all 3-year-olds seem to manifest and he sang his heart out.

It soon became clear that he knew every single word to the song. As he stood there in his baseball shirt, clutching the mic and squinting his eyes as he focused on singing, the crowd smiled.

Who doesn’t like a little kid singing? It’s adorable.

Drake may be going back for round two — but this time it would be for another cause. Now that he’s broken into the market, he’s eyeing some charity work.
