Watch Moment Struggling Granddaughter Opens Life-Changing Gift from Grandma
When you’re young and stuck trying to work a job and complete your education, a lot of other life issues get in the way.
You may not have bills to pay yet if you’re living from home, but everything costs money. Classes, textbooks, and supplies are just one necessary aspect — and when it comes down to it, many young adults choose to ride the bus or a bike to and from school.
That’s a completely respectable, healthy, and environmentally friendly way to travel, but it’s not always easy. Weather, road conditions, and time constraints can all cause hiccups.
One young lady was used to using her bicycle to get to work and school, pedaling miles one way and then another.
But on her birthday, her grandparents decided to surprise her with a one-of-a-kind gift. Perhaps the birthday girl knew something was up, because she asks “Why is everybody watching me?!”
“Do I need to read this out loud?” she asks as she is handed a card. After receiving a chorus of yeses, she opened the card and starting reading it so everyone could hear.
“This is a two-part gift. I was able to find an all-inclusive service contract for your bicycle which is good for 2016…”
“What does that mean?” she asked incredulously. They explained it was AAA for a bicycle.
“Any problem, day and night, and a service vehicle comes right to you,” she continued reading. She seemed happy with the service, but surprised that it existed.
She laughed, “Wait, so is that your gift, and this is…” The man next to her, presumably her grandpa, explained that there were still two more boxes to go.
The first box contained the AAA membership card. “This is awesome. I actually always worry about that,” she said, referring to encountering issues while out cycling.
Then she was directed to open the second small box. She was still chatting away as normal until she peeled back the tissue paper to reveal a set of car keys.
Even before you see the keys, you can see the look in her eyes as she realizes what her grandparents have actually given her.
“Oh my gosh, she’s breaking down,” said a voice off-screen.
She got up, crying, and gave her grandma a big hug. Her grandma took her out to the car and gave her the run-down, even while the birthday girl is still in tears.
What an awesome birthday present! She’ll be appreciating this gift for years to come.
