Watch: NBA Players Can't Contain Themselves When Singer Desecrates Anthem with LGBT Flag
American leftists have spent decades weaponizing loneliness and narcissism. Their objective? Divide and conquer.
Now, in the age of wokeness, we can often do little more than roll our eyes in amusement at the silliest manifestations of their admittedly spectacular success.
For instance, prior to Thursday night’s game between the NBA’s Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, an effeminate-sounding male singer pulled a small rainbow “pride” flag from his jacket pocket and began waving it during his rendition of the national anthem, during which cameras caught multiple Warriors players smiling and perhaps laughing.
In fact, after retrieving the flag, the singer dragged out the word “proudly” in “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
“What so proouuuuuudly we hailed,” he sang in a clip posted to the social media platform X.
Meanwhile, at least two Warriors players stood nearby, looking amused.

In fairness to the flamboyant singer, Golden State touted Thursday’s game as “pride night.” Extreme liberal head coach Steve Kerr even appeared in a promotional video for the event, posted to Facebook.
On the court — the place that should matter to fans — the Warriors defeated the Heat, 120-100. Franchise legend Stephen Curry led the way with 29 points. Rookie sensation Yaxel Lendeborg chipped in with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
Of course, thanks to “pride” theater, we have to spend time bemoaning yet another desecration of the national anthem.
The whole thing is beyond sad. But at least we understand its source. And we could not properly fight it if we did not understand it.
The root of all this “pride” madness lies in the quite natural and healthy human desire to belong. To those who experience loneliness of any kind, existence itself can feel like a curse.
The conservative answer to this problem lies in faith, family, and the cultivation of personal relationships. Above all, conservatives say, if you put others before yourself, you will escape the pit of hell, defined as self-absorption.
By contrast, leftists invite the lonely to find communion in identity-based groups. Your physical characteristics and sexual proclivities, they say, unite you with others who share those same characteristics. Moreover — and here comes the scourge of “pride” — those qualities make you special.
Thus, leftism transforms loneliness into narcissism. You no longer have value simply by virtue of your humanness. Instead, you matter as a black transgender woman or something of the sort.
What that anthem singer in San Francisco did last night was a perfect illustration. When he retrieved and began waving that little rainbow flag, he symbolically replaced something that represents all of us — the American flag — with something that represents only him and “his” special community.
We must pray, of course, that someday the fever of identitarianism will break. In the meantime, we can only marvel at how thoroughly it has pervaded our culture.
For instance, the balkanization of the American people does not fall exclusively at the feet of LGBT activists. Far from it.
In fact, the Warriors have many identity-based event nights scheduled for the 2026-27 season. Want to celebrate Native American, Greek, or South Asian heritage? What about Jewish, Portuguese, or African-American? Every group gets its own night to show off how special it is.
The whole thing would be laughable — just ask those Warriors players — if it were not so destructive to true love and peace.
