Watch: Old-Timer Humiliates Young Gun with the Oldest Trick in the Book

Share

Just call him Uncle Drew.

There’s a video that’s gone viral of an older guy taking his young opponent to school with one of the oldest backyard hoops tricks in the book — the fake hook shot.

It’s a thing of beauty.

He backs the young guy down, looking as if he’s going to post him up. Then in one perfectly executed motion he puts the ball on the ground and fakes a hook shot with his right hand.

His defender totally buys it — hook, line and sinker.

Then to top if off, he picks up the ball and throws it in over his shoulder without looking.

Game over. As George Costanza would say, you leave right there on a high note.

It calls to mind some on-court wizardry from former Celtics great Bob Cousy. He had players coming and going with his trickery on a nightly basis.

Fans might appreciate some of the ridiculous ball fakes executed by another Celtic, Rajon Rondo.

LeBron James has some tricks up his sleeve, too.

But the move by the old-timer in the knee braces is just pure perfection.

Uncle Drew would be proud.
