Tim Tebow Announces His Newest Venture While Recovering from Baseball Injury

Share

Tim Tebow’s baseball career has hit an unfortunate roadblock, but that doesn’t mean the man is taking much time off.

When he’s not honoring some of the brave men and women protecting this country, he’s offering some spicy hot takes about college football.

Suffice to say, Tebow is a man very comfortable wearing multiple hats.

The latest hat the former NFL and college quarterback has decided to wear?

Hosting a new CBS physical competition show.

Called “Million Dollar Mile,” Tebow’s CBS show will be a “10-episode high-stakes physical competition series where contestants will have the chance to win $1 million every time they run the Million Dollar Mile,” according to Deadline.

Will you watch Tebow on "Million Dollar Mile"?

Now, obviously, running a normal mile isn’t worth a million dollars.

The show will reportedly feature “the most challenging course ever designed” as “elite athletes” compete to complete it.

It would be disingenuous to say that this is breaking any sort of new ground, considering the proliferation of obstacle course-based shows like “American Ninja Warrior.”

But the addition of it being a full mile is certainly noteworthy. A test of skill and endurance adds an interesting wrinkle to the well-worn formula.

Tebow will host the event and commentate on the competition.

“Watching good people compete at their highest ability is always inspirational to me,” Tebow said, per Deadline.

Tebow, albeit with an air of promotional flair, seems genuinely excited by the thrill of competition in the show.

“’Million Dollar Mile’ is a show that does just that — it motivates, thrills and is aspirational, and I’m excited to be hosting this show,” the former Heisman winner said.

Tebow will be commentating with Los Angeles Chargers announcer Matt Smith and ESPN reporter Maria Taylor.

Interestingly, Tebow’s latest venture is the brainchild, at least in part, of another highly publicized athlete. The show is being produced Fly on the Wall Entertainment and SpringHill Entertainment. The latter was co-founded by NBA star LeBron James.

“Million Dollar Mile” is filming in Los Angeles and doesn’t yet have an official release date.
