You Can Apply for a 'Pupternship' and Get Paid $100 Per Hour To Pet Puppies

Share

When I was fresh out of college, I had a job that many would consider a dream profession. I got to review movies, music and video games.

Of course, every position has its drawbacks. I soon learned that you can get really tired of a screen when you don’t get to pick what it shows you.

Still, I couldn’t exactly complain — or perhaps I could have if MUTTS Canine Cantina had been in business. Now there’s a job that sounds as if it would never get old.

A Texas-based business, MUTTS Canine Cantina has created a competitive space for itself in Dallas by combining a beer garden with a dog park. Forget about sweating in the sweltering sun while your doggo frolics about.

At MUTTS, you can crack open a cold one and enjoy a piping hot sandwich. And don’t think that they serve cheap drinks and freezer-burned meat.

According to its website, MUTTS only offers gourmet-quality pub grub, handcrafted cocktails (including a bourbon milkshake that looks delectable) and craft beer. Oh, and the dogs get their own treats, too.

Meanwhile, your pooch is busy making new friends and getting lots of exercise while you’re chowing down. Sounds like a great concept, doesn’t it?

Are you going to apply?

Well, the Canine Cantina has enjoyed enough success that it has opened a second location in Fort Worth. And that location comes with the opportunity of a lifetime.

Best Products reports that MUTTS is seeking a puptern. Yes, the business wants an intern who will get to pet puppies.

But unlike most internships, this one is paid. One lucky person will earn $100 per hour by caring for cute dogs.

Sounds like there should be a catch, right? According to People, though, “the sole duty of the soon-to-be puptern is to play with dogs all day. That’s it.”

Co-founder Kyle Noonan said in a statement, “We are looking forward to hiring our first ever puptern.” There aren’t many opportunities out there that pay interns to strictly play with dogs all day long.

“Typically, there may be other responsibilities that come with the job, but not this one. I’d be lying if I said this is going to be one ‘ruff’ internship.”

As you may have guessed, MUTTS isn’t going through the normal job-application process. Forget about polishing your resume or adding new references.

Instead, applicants will need to follow @MuttsCantina on Instagram. Then they’ll have to post a picture that proves they’ll be the perfect puptern.

Applications close on Nov. 12, so what are you waiting for? Your delightfully doggy dream job awaits!
