CNN's Cuomo Shames Liz Cheney for Saying 'Exterminated,' Gets Instantly Reminded of All the Times He Said It

Share

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has, once again, uttered some controversial commentary that members of the predominately liberal establishment media are bending over backward and exposing themselves in a shameful effort to defend.

Unsurprisingly, CNN’s Chris Cuomo is one of the “journalists” attempting to defend the indefensible.

In a video recently posted to social media, Ocasio-Cortez likened migrant detainment facilities at the U.S. border to the deadly concentration camps utilized by the Nazis, even going so far as to reference the “Never again” phrase in her comparison of the “fascist” Trump administration with the fascist Nazis of World War II.

The freshman congresswoman was called out for her ridiculous and controversial comparison by a great number of people, including Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney — daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney — who encouraged Ocasio-Cortez in a tweet to study some history and learn about how “6 million Jews were exterminated in the Holocaust. You demean their memory and disgrace yourself with comments like this.”

Swinging in to rescue Ocasio-Cortez was Cuomo, who tweeted in response to Cheney, “Exterminated? We use that for pests not people.”

To say that Cuomo was absolutely roasted and “ratioed” — far more negative comments than “likes” on a post — for his absurd hot take on Cheney’s remark would be a massive understatement.

Indeed, a scroll through the comments on Cuomo’s post revealed countless users pointing out how variations of the word “exterminate” were applicable and historically accurate with regard to Nazi concentration camps. Even the official Twitter account of the Auschwitz Memorial noted that in 1942 the Auschwitz camp “became a center of mass extermination of Jews & mass murder of Roma.”

Are establishment media hack "journalists" almost all hypocrites?

A number of users also called out Cuomo’s journalistic integrity and wondered why he would defend Ocasio-Cortez over her nonsensical comparison as well as why he would pick a fight with Cheney over the use of that particular word.

But it was The Federalist’s Sean Davis who absolutely destroyed Cuomo and exposed his partisan hackery and hypocrisy with a tweet thread showing how Cuomo’s own network, and even he himself, had used variations of the term “exterminate” on innumerable occasions in the past.

“You have repeatedly used that precise term on your show to refer to genocide, as have countless CNN guests and anchors. I know you’re upset that your precious @AOC is getting dragged for being a dummy, but that’s no excuse for being an idiot yourself,” Davis tweeted.

Davis included in his thread several screenshots taken directly from the CNN website of program summaries and transcripts that featured the word in question.

One of those screenshots was a transcript that showed Cuomo, speaking about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, referring to Kim’s communist regime as one that had no parallel when it came to “stuff like extermination, torture, enslavement”

Davis concluded, “A CNN anchor used the word ‘exterminated’ *this morning* to refer to the Holocaust, @ChrisCuomo. Are you going to chastise her and everyone else on your garbage network, or do you only reserve your idiotic faux outrage for Republicans criticizing actual Holocaust minimizers?”

This was a lame attempt by Cuomo to align himself with the likes of Ocasio-Cortez and the Trump Derangement-consumed progressive left. Thankfully, his unmitigated hackery was called out by just about everyone and his blatant hypocrisy was exposed for all to see.
