Journalists Throw Twitter Tantrum Over Forever 21's 'Fake News' Biker Shorts
It seems like every week in America, the establishment media and progressive culture warriors of the Twitter-verse manage to come together and gin up something new to feign outrage over.
And with each passing week, the topic of the left’s fake outrage becomes more and more absurd. Meanwhile, their seemingly irrepressible rage grows bolder and more pervasive with each new topic.
This week, however, the perfect storm arose.
That’s right, these indignant fools may have just hit rock bottom.
The latest faux outrage-driven tantrum was thrown over a pair of bicycle shorts that American fashion retailer Forever 21 had the nerve to release.
But this wasn’t just any pair of bicycle shorts.
This $9.90 cent pair of black, cotton-spandex blend shorts come littered with white letters reading “FAKE NEWS.”
According to a handful of media figures, Forever 21 had gone a bridge too far, aiding and abetting hateful conservative Americans in their unholy crusade against journalists.
“Turns out, all you need to express your hatred for journalists in clothing form is $9.90, to be given to @Forever21!” Capital Gazette reporter Katherine Fominykh wrote on Twitter.
“Wow, so affordable!” she added.

“Oh, no! This is terrible,” Baltimore Sun reporter Pamela Wood responded, going on to express even more outrage over the product in a follow-up tweet.

But, if we’re abiding by the standard set by left-wing social justice warriors, what is funny in this day and age?
A question raised by a conservative politician, activist or pundit can never stand on its own as an attempt to promote free thought and honest political discourse.
Nor can a playful remark or product made by a conservative comedian or company stand as a simple attempt at humor.
No. It is all “hate speech.”
All jokes about “fake news” are part of an attempt to undermine the supposedly honest institution that is the establishment news media, mainstream journalists say.
It’s all an attempt to introduce incendiary rhetoric and dog-whistle fascists and Nazis into committing horrible acts of violence against the paragons of honesty that find themselves employed by CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
The media is supposedly under attack in this country.
Journalists live in constant fear because, in the age of round-the-clock security and record-low violence, it is more dangerous than ever to be an American news reporter.
Now to be fair, in the case of Fominykh, that fear is reasonable. Last year, the Capital Gazette was victim to a senseless act of violence carried out by an unarguably misguided man with a deep-seeded hatred for the media — albeit this was before Fominykh’s time with the publication.
But events like that are rare, and journalists are not under constant assault simply because President Donald Trump calls out the establishment media’s dishonest practice of running wild stories sourced primarily by anonymous figures unanswerable to anyone.
The truth is, the media just can’t take a joke. They have belittled and tarred the conservatives of heartland America for decades, and now that they are being taken to task, they are angry.
So they lash out.
Fominykh, for her part, claimed the retailer had pulled the item from its online store, even though the shorts were still available when this article was published.

An unbelievably bratty response — but unsurprising.
There’s just no winning when it comes to the outrage mob. They will not rest until they are the only voice remaining.
