Kavanaugh Accuser Snatches Up McCabe's Lawyer, Obama Crony

Share

Yet another top Democrat operative has joined the legal team of Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford — this time the lawyer for fired FBI official Andrew McCabe and a former top official in the Obama and Clinton administrations.

According to The Daily Caller, Michael Bromwich — the first director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management under Obama and the Department of Justice’s inspector general under Clinton — quit his position in private practice Saturday to represent Ford along with her lawyers Debra Katz and Lisa Banks.

“I’m honored to be joining Debra Katz and Lisa Banks in representing Dr. Ford,” Bromwich wrote in a tweet.

Both Banks and Katz are Democrat heavyweights in their own right, and that’s hardly all the liberal advice that Ford has been getting.

Ricki Seidman, currently a senior principal at TSD Communications and one of the people who urged Anita Hill to come forward during the Clarence Thomas hearings, is also advising Ford.

“I believe her and I think she’s very courageous for coming this far,” Seidman said last week, according to Politico.

And then there’s the individual Bromwich was retweeting — Melissa Schwartz, a former spokeswoman for McCabe. She’s joining Team Ford, too.

And no, I’m not trivializing the allegations against Kavanaugh by calling the agglomeration of liberals “Team Ford.” That’s Schwartz’s job.

According to The Daily Caller, Bromwich represents McCabe, a confidant of fired FBI Director James Comey. McCabe was widely seen as a vigorously anti-Trump figure within the FBI whose wife took a major political donation from Clinton crony and former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Liberals, of course, were thrilled with the news.

There isn’t any rule, written or unwritten, that says Ford shouldn’t avail herself of legal counsel and other assistance now that she’s made her complaint public.

Do you think Brett Kavanaugh will be confirmed to the Supreme Court?

In fact, she would be naïvely doltish not to, given the fact she’s about to be a part of the biggest political/legal showdown inside the I-495 Beltway since the Clinton impeachment.

That being said, the fact that her team is a Murderer’s Row of left-wing political hackery isn’t particularly great from an optics standpoint, at least if she wants her allegations to be seen as something more than a weaponized narrative.

Then again, perhaps she’s just fine with that. Democrats certainly are.
