Watch: Police Taser Has Accused Rapist's Face Smashing into the Curb
If it’s wrong to enjoy watching an accused rapist face-plant into a curb after getting Tased, I don’t want to be right.
It happened Thursday at a convenience store in Titusville, Florida.
Benjamin Victor Hovan of Tallahassee was the subject of a police manhunt after allegedly kidnapping, robbing and sexually assaulting women at gunpoint and knifepoint.
A Titusville police officer saw the 32-year-old Hovan at the GasKwick store and thought he was behaving suspiciously, the Miami Herald reported. Police body camera footage shows the officer confronting Hovan, who initially complied with commands to put his hands up and then get on the ground.
However, when another police officer arrived to provide backup, Hovan decided to get up and make a run for it.
Both officers gave chase, and one quickly deployed his Taser while they were in front of the convenience store. It failed to stop him, however.
One of the officers yelled “Get down!” at Hovan while pursuing him around the side of the store and into the parking lot.
Without breaking his stride, the officer reloaded his Taser and fired again.
This time, the jolt sent Hovan tumbling face-first into the curb.
The second officer jumped on his back and handcuffed him as he said, “Ow, ow, ow, ow.”
Hovan was taken into custody on charges of sexual assault, kidnapping and home invasion.
According to police, he held two 24-year-old women at knifepoint June 30 in Casselberry, Florida, near Orlando, after barging into their apartment.
“The suspect sexually battered one of the victims and then kidnapped both victims by forcing them into a vehicle owned by one of the victims,” Casselberry police Cmdr. William Nas said, according to WFTV-TV. “The suspect then drove the victims to a Publix in Maitland, where he ordered one to get money out of the ATM.”

Hovan then apparently headed south.
On Wednesday, police say, he robbed a 62-year-old woman at gunpoint in South Miami, pistol-whipping her before stealing her jewelry and her Mercedes Benz. Her car was found at the Titusville convenience store, according to police.
Hovan is also accused in a recent home burglary and car theft in Tallahassee, according to WCTV-TV.
It sounds like a very bad guy has been taken off the streets. Thankfully, police body cameras made it possible for us to watch him go down.
