The Cutest Two-Year-Old Baker Hosts Very Own 'Cooking Show' with Giant Smile on Face

Share

Kids make the rounds on social media for many different reasons. When they’re very small, it’s videos of their belly-laugh reactions to the most ridiculous things that spread like wildfire.

Once they get a little older it can turn to things like pranks, near misses, and mild accidents that are more amusing than they are dangerous.

There’s a reason that kids aren’t usually much real help in the kitchen, and the videos above and below illustrate that reason pretty clearly. We may laugh, but we probably had similar experiences ourselves as we were learning to comport ourselves and navigate the world around us.

That’s why it’s often the grandmas of the world who go out of their way to take time to teach their grandkids how to bake. The grandkids come over, they help make cookies, they help eat cookies, and then they get carted off home again.

It’s a great set-up: The kids love grandma and grandma doesn’t have to deal with the resulting sugar high (or at least, that’s what my grandma jokingly said).

But if you always keep your curious kiddos out of the kitchen, they’ll never learn to fend for themselves. And baking tends to be a little messy anyway, so why not just embrace it?

The patient momma behind this video clearly did. And her 2-year-old, Roman, is miles ahead of most children his age.

Roman may only be two, and he may not be able to crack an egg on his own or ensure all of the sugar gets into the mixing bowl, but he’s got heart, vocabulary, and the “aww” factor.

The video shows him asking very politely for each ingredient, which mom hands to him, pre-measured, so he can dump or pour it into the mixing bowl. He swirls the spoon around a few times for good measure (and has a little off-screen help from mom), and once the cake is baked, he’s on to decorating.

He’s got a unique frosting method, slapping the rubber spatula against the poor cake — but it holds! And no cake is complete without sprinkles.

But not just any sprinkles. And not just a pathetic dusting. Roman goes all in, pouring the contents of two entire containers of sprinkles on top of his frosted cake.

The 2-year-old already has a following, with thousands of comments, likes, and shares.

“I’m stoked to see a tyke in the kitchen; but, baking aside, the language skills and manners of this kid,” a third wrote.
