Deep Dive: The Blackballed News Sources Woke Wikipedia Hates - Yep, The Western Journal Made the List

For those of us of a certain age, it is a dictum drummed into us by teachers and professors: Wikipedia is unreliable. Do not use it. Do not cite it. Do not go near it for serious factual information.

That may be fine, but the open encyclopedia has become a go-to despite these warnings, especially for fast-moving events. Moreover, in the age of artificial intelligence, it’s sadly become even more important; one recent study found that Wikipedia was the second-most cited source by large language models, behind only Reddit.

Thus, that old dictum about staying away from Wikipedia is becoming less and less feasible — which is a problem, considering where the notoriously liberal Wikipedia gets its information.
