Kimmel's Disturbing Attack on Hannity Even Has Liberals Turning Against Him

Share

A series of tweets by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is being criticized by some liberals for his series of witter insults against Fox News host Sean Hannity that are being called homophobic.

Kimmel and Hannity began a Twitter war which had Hannity calling Kimmel “Harvey Weinstein Jr.” for some of the sexist stunts performed on “The Man Show.”

Kimmel struck back by saying the sexually explicit stunts were done with consent and claiming that Hannity was trivializing sexual assault.

Kimmel then proved how enlightened he’d become in recent years by implying that the the Fox News host was in a sexually coercive relationship with the president.

Were these tweets by Jimmy Kimmel inappropriate?

Needless to say, his own side wasn’t particularly happy with Kimmel’s remarks. The biggest liberal name striking out against Kimmel was gossip columnist Perez Hilton, who is openly gay and about as liberal as it gets.

He was far from the only one on the left to question whether the tweets were homophobic.

Even some conservatives even got in on the fun.

Well, that didn’t go over well. It looks like the left’s personal Jesus might only have a 97 percent chance of hosting next year’s Academy Awards.

That’s the rub, however: Kimmel has mostly gotten a pass for his past without apologizing for it because of what he believes. Regardless of whether those vulgar segments on “The Man Show” were done with release forms and consent or not, they were still overtly sexist and clearly made to imply that sexual harassment was going on. In fact, that was the entire joke.

And this was the guy lecturing people about sexual harassment from the stage at the Academy Awards.

Kimmel has mostly outrun any responsibility for it by making a lot of Trump jokes and crying about Obamacare. That’s it. Apparently, he’s still the same person underneath, as these tweets seem to prove.

Will the left finally use its standards on its own when it comes to Kimmel? We’ll certainly see.
