Homeowner Gets Ultimate Revenge on 'Grinch' Who Stole Christmas Decorations

Share

While Christmas is a time for celebration for most people, some only see it as an opportunity to take advantage of others.

One Texas homeowner experienced this firsthand when he woke to find some of his Christmas decorations missing.

“It was 16 feet long and it’s eight reindeer that were animated,” homeowner Ken Lamkin told KENS-TV. He also found that he was missing the fog machine.

When Lamkin woke up Christmas Eve morning, he found that someone had stolen the expensive decorations.

He checked his security camera, and sure enough, he had a crystal-clear video of the man responsible.

Lamkin’s first thought was of the famous Dr. Seuss character, the Grinch. “He was so slow and methodical, that’s what reminded us of the story of the Grinch,” he said.

So, instead of giving up on his Christmas display, Lamkin decided to pivot the theme.

Instead of reindeer eating from a trough, he decided he’d go with the story of the Grinch.

“We ran over and made some black and white pictures and mounted them on some cardboard,” Lamkin said.

“And this is what you have: our new Grinch-themed Christmas.”

Lamkin displayed six screenshots of the thief on his front lawn. Meanwhile, the Grinch theme song is playing on a loop for all to hear.

He even went so far as to put a projector in his front yard to show the video of the ordeal. Lamkin clearly isn’t scared about putting any more expensive electronics in his yard.

“It doesn’t only show that we know who you are, but it is also to show that you can’t take our Christmas,” Lamkin said.

“We are going to sit down here and hold hands, and we are going to sing and enjoy Christmas.”

Lamkin still holds out hope that the Grinch story will come full-circle. Maybe the homeowner’s resilience will inspire the thief to return what he stole.

“Hopefully, something will happen, it will touch his heart, he will change and maybe he will return all of the things he stole,” Lamkin told WGN-TV. “Just like the Grinch did.”
