Duggar Family TV Star Wants to Adopt All 13 Abused 'House of Horrors' Children
The Turpin family has got to be one of the most bizarre and devastating stories we’ve seen in a long time. The “house of horrors,” as it’s grown to be called, showcased just how cruel humans are capable of being.
The 13 Turpin children were held captive in their own homes for their entire lives. They were abused and starved by two crazed individuals who can look forward to spending the rest of their lives behind bars.
Now, another famously large family has entered the discussion — though in a far more positive light. Amy (Duggar) King has reached out on Twitter, offering to adopt all 13 of the abused kids.
“I just texted [my husband] Dillon and told him I wanted to adopt all 13 Turpin children,” she wrote in her tweet.
“I would love to show them true love and have a beautiful life and provide a secure and stable home for them. #ifonly #houseofhorrors. God can restore what the devil has stolen.”
Amy Duggar is a cousin of the famous Duggar family from the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting. Unlike other members of the family who have married and had kids at a young age, Amy doesn’t seem like she’s in any rush to have a child of her own.
If it’s adopting 13 abused kids from the “house of horrors,” though, she’s all about it. She followed up her initial tweet by condemning the “parents” of these poor kids.
“Anyone who can hurt animals and starve /torture children in any way need to be hung by their toenails,” she wrote. “Watching the news just breaks my hear.”
Acording to an interview with People Magazine, Amy isn’t joking about adopting the kids who range from 2 to 29. “I would completely adopt them and get them counseling so they can begin to heal,” she said.
“My heart was broken after hearing what all they have been through. They need a home full of love and stability.
“I’m only 31 so it would be a huge undertaking for Dillon and I. But at least they would be safe and loved,” she continued.
“Dillon and I have a heart for hurting children. The Turpin children are in my prayers. It absolutely just breaks my heart.”
It’s sadly ironic that the Turpin parents had mentioned they were hoping for a tv spot like the Duggars had. A relative of the disturbed couple recently revealed that they had hopes of making it big.
“She used to say how they would be perfect for TV and would often mention they would be bigger than the reality show ‘Kate Plus 8,’” Billy Lambert said. “It is the reason they moved to California to be nearer to Hollywood.”
His assessment was seconded by Louise’s sister, Teresa Robinette. She reported, “Only last month, Louise told me her and David were planning to have another child.
“I asked her why on earth they wanted more children, and she said about wanting a reality TV show. They thought it would make them millions and household names.”
We hope that whoever steps up to care for these children will provide them with everything they were deprived of during their development. And there are people out there, like Amy, willing to make that a reality.
