Husband and Wife Have Worn Matching Outfits for 68 Years: 'I Don't Have To Worry About a Thing'

Two 87-year-olds are going viral for sharing their secrets for a lasting marriage: Jesus, music and matching outfits!

Francis and RoseMary Klontz have been married for nearly 68 years. Just as in love today as the day they met, the couple works together as a singing duo to share worship music with others, spreading joy wherever they go.

But their dynamic harmonies and many years together aren’t the only thing that sets this couple apart from the crowd: The two have been coordinating clothing for nearly seven decades!

“My mother got us matching shirts when we were in high school — well, I picked them out — and we’ve been matching ever since,” RoseMary told KOVR. Every day RoseMary picks out an outfit for her husband and lays it out for him.

“She just lays it out for me, and I don’t have to worry about a thing,” Francis explained.

The two lovebirds met in junior high school, and Francis was instantly smitten.

“I thought she was the cutest little thing when she came into our town,” he said. “By the time we were seniors, we started going together.”

The couple married when they were just 19 and have been going strong ever since, thanks to both their faith and their fashion.

They have even passed their matching style down to their grandson and his fiancée, according to Good Day Sacramento.

Now, the two go by the moniker “Singing Chaplins.” Quite literally “in harmony” with one another, they perform together at their church, as well as at local hospitals.

“Promise me we’ll still be sweethearts,” they sang together for KOVR. According to RoseMary, they’ve been singing together for years, but their performances started when they discovered a need for joy in their community.

“We just started this because somebody couldn’t get out to church and they wanted to hear some church music,” she told Good Day Sacramento. “So we sang for them. And then the staff heard it and they wanted us to have a concert.”

“We always hold hands when we sing behind the pulpit,” RoseMary added. “And they all love that.”

More than the music or their adorable outfits, the couple credits the success of their marriage to their continued trust in Jesus.

When asked what their secret was, RoseMary answered, “Putting Jesus first.”

“Jesus first, others second, you last — that’s the way you spell ‘joy,'” she added.

Francis quickly agreed, “Absolutely! We did it.”
