181-Yr-Old Tree Falls After Lightning Strike, So Chris Pratt Creates Beautiful Table
When it comes to following our favorite celebrities online, we can only hope they’re as genuine as they seem.
Sometimes we hear stories that more than disappoint, learning the stars we look up to were caught driving under the influence or being rude to a fan.
But there are plenty of red carpet regulars that continue to remind us exactly why we see their movies or watch them on television time and time again.
Chris Pratt is one of those actors you can’t help but fall for with every new interview or Instagram post.
The actor got his start on “Parks and Rec” as lovable doofus Andy Dwyer. He made us laugh until we cried, and we all cried just a little when the show ended after its seventh season.
But even now that Pratt’s starring in blockbuster hits like “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” he hasn’t forgotten his “Parks and Rec” family.
As it turns out, Pratt has something in common with Nick Offerman, better known as Ron Swanson. The two share a love of woodwork.
Offerman reunites with his former “Parks and Rec” co-star, Amy Poehler, in a new series, “Making It,” premiering on NBC on July 31.
According to some recent photos posted by Pratt on Instagram, Offerman will soon be quite busy “making it” himself.
The real-life craftsman and Pratt have remained friends. When the action star cut down a 181-year-old Douglas Fir near his farm, he knew he had to put it in the right hands.
“Another extraordinary day at the farm!!” Pratt wrote. “Today we cut down this gorgeous old growth Douglas Fir. 181 years old!! She was struck by lightning and her top had begun to rot.”
Pratt shared several photos of his tree-cutting adventure, including one featuring him in a pair of coveralls.
“Renamed the tree Michael Douglas Fir,” Pratt wrote. All the more reason to love this guy — he makes us laugh both on and off the screen.
Pratt mentioned he plans to send the wood to Offerman and have him “make… the dopest table in history fit for a family of Vikings!!!”
The actor also shared a photo of himself standing beside his 5-year-old son, Jack. “My family will enjoy moments and meals for, God willing, many generations. I live for moments like these,” he shared.
Yes, the Christian actor who won the MTV Generation Award in June continues to warm our hearts through his heartfelt words and authentic attitude.
No doubt he’ll be showing off his new table when it’s done. We can only hope his next photo with Offerman will be an announcement that “Parks and Rec” is up for a reboot.
Who knows? Maybe the pair will even use the table reveal as the big announcement. Until then, we’ll continue to keep our eyes on Instagram with our fingers crossed.
