Simon Cowell's Son Overjoyed When Dad Lets Him Tag Along To Walk of Fame Ceremony

Share

We got to know Simon Cowell as the judge we loved to hate when “American Idol” premiered in 2002. He was blunt, he was honest and we just couldn’t get enough of him.

Cowell is iconic in the music industry now, but many don’t know he began his career as mailroom employee for EMI Music Publishing.

According to Biography.com, the big time music producer and talent scout has a net worth of $550 million! But don’t worry, he only makes $95 million a year — no big deal.

Cowell is used to the spotlight and he’s no stranger to fame, which is why it’s about time he got his own star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

Extra TV reported that Cowell was not only honored with his own star, but recently renewed his contract with “America’s Got Talent.”

That’s right. We may have shed a tear or two when Cowell bid farewell to “American Idol,” but we can rest assured there will be plenty more of Cowell to love during “AGT’s” 14th season.

Are you a fan of Simon Cowell?

Several big names joined Cowell during his Walk of Fame ceremony, including his fellow “AGT” judges and former “American Idol” winner, Kelly Clarkson.

During the Aug. 22 ceremony, Clarkson credited Cowell for his appreciation of authenticity and said how rare that truly is.

“I think his thing that he’s so talented at is finding just authentic people that have a raw talent and are really themselves,” Clarkson said during her speech.

Clarkson certainly caught Cowell’s attention in 2002 with her stellar voice and authentic, positive attitude.

Though Clarkson may seem like Cowell’s biggest fan and supporter, she’s not number one when it comes to praising this man’s accomplishments.

Simon’s 4-year-old son, Eric, was quite excited over what has been officially dubbed “Simon Cowell Day” by Leron Gubler, the president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

“I’m goin’ to the ceremony!” Eric told his dad that morning. Of course, Cowell admitted his son probably didn’t quite comprehend what was actually going on.

Still, we can’t deny this kid is adorable. Considering how he follows his dad around everywhere, I imagine he’s got a music career in his future.

Cowell mentioned that he missed his parents and wished they’d been there for the momentous occasion, but I bet just having his son there was more than enough to warm his heart.
