Dolly Parton To Receive 2nd Hollywood Walk of Fame Star 35 Years After Receiving 1st
Congratulations are in order for Dolly Parton, who, like always, has accomplished something new and exciting.
The country legend and philanthropist is set to receive her second Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.
Parton received her first Hollywood star in 1984. Her second star, which will be added in 2019, marks Parton as the first woman in the 21st century to have two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Parton will receive the star along with recording cohorts Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. The women came together to record a wildly successful album in 1987 called “Trio.”

“Trio” enjoyed a 1988 Grammy award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The album sold four million copies, and was followed up in 1999 with the release of “Trio II.”
Finally, in 2016, the three women completed the series with a third album, “The Complete Trio Collection.” On a short video posted to Twitter, Parton gushed about the excitement of sharing the star with two of her best friends.

“I am so excited that I have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Parton smiled. “Not just me — but with two of my best friends, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.”
Parton thanked the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and its Walk of Fame Selection Committee for selecting the group to be inducted in the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2019. “I really am excited,” Parton said.
Support and love came flowing in for the artist after the announcement, including kind words from country artist Carrie Underwood. “You continue to be a trailblazer and inspiration to us all!” Underwood wrote on Twitter.
If anyone is deserving of two stars, it’s Parton. There is seemingly no end to her artistic and philanthropic accomplishments.
Parton and her fellow singers will be among several other big names included in the 2019 class.
Other inductees include Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, singer Michael Bublé and writer-director-actor Tyler Perry.
The date for the “Trio” singers star unveiling date has not yet been determined. But the reunion will surely be sweet and full of laughter when the three women come together once again to celebrate.
