Maddow Rushes to Run Leaked Detention Pics, But They Blow Up in Her Face

Share

Rachel Maddow hasn’t had this big a bust since her fiasco over President Donald Trump’s taxes.

The MSNBC harridan, who has used liberal rage against the Trump administration to keep her own sagging career in the public eye afloat, might be most infamous for her Trump tax “scoop” last year that was so awful even Trump-hating comic Steven Colbert mocked her for it.

But the pictures she aired Monday night to viewers of “The Rachel Maddow Show” were even worse.

After an extended monologue clearly aimed at hyping the pathos of the illegal immigrant children who have been separated from their illegal immigrant parents because their parents have committed a crime, Maddow finally showed her viewers how these children are being treated.

It’s not exactly a horror show out of Charles Dickens’ London.

What MSNBC liberal viewers saw – primed to expect the worst by the known-to-be weepy, melodramatic Maddow – were children wearing clean clothes and being cared for in clean surroundings that were probably superior to most inner-city schools Democrats love to keep American children confined in.

What they did not see were children being abused or malnourished (the food that’s visible looks markedly better than the school lunches Michelle Obama tried to force down the throats of America’s schoolchildren).

Check out a part of the show here:

Judging by the immediate Twitter reactions, Maddow achieved at least some of her goal. The overwhelming response to her tweeted excerpt were of the hand-wringing variety from liberals who love pretending the country is plunging headlong into genocide during the Trump administration.

But she could have showed endless pictures of Hispanic-looking children dancing with Barney the Dinosaur, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and gotten the same reaction from that Trump-hating segment of the population.

What the sane part of America will see is children in a properly run institutionalized setting. Is that ideal for kids? Of course not. But neither is having parents who commit crimes and get locked up in a foreign country.

What the sane part of America will see is likely summarized by this tweet:

Of course, Maddow knew how thin the gruel she was serving was. That’s why she spent almost two-thirds of a 15-minute segment puffing up video that looked for all the world like an everyday scene in kindergartens across the country.

That’s also why she ended the segment with some words that left her viewers with the hope that they could still have a chance to see the kind of child-torture liberals are sure the Trump administration is engaging in.

“While this is, what you just saw, is the first smuggled video footage from inside one of these facilities, it is likely to be only the first,” Maddow said.

Did Maddow's "scoop" backfire on her?

“There will be more. When you take more than 2,000 children forcibly away from their parents, and you don’t make any concerted effort to return those kids to their families, when the government essentially abducted a very large number of children, including babies, and then scatters them all around the country to all these different facilities, with no concrete plans to give them back to their families, that is too big an operation to keep secret.”

She’s right. But the point is, no one has ever tried to keep it secret.

The Trump administration would like nothing better than for potential illegal immigrants to change their minds about coming to the U.S. if it meant being separated from their children.

And liberals across the country would like nothing more than to see smuggled videos showing their countrymen are the savages too many Democrats living in liberal cocoons believe them to be.

Unfortunately for libs, the videos Maddow broadcast Monday night blew up in her face.

All they did was prove that the Trump administration is doing the best it can to deal with a situation that’s been created by a group of lawbreaking parents who thought they could get into the United States without going through time and effort that millions of foreigner have to live legally in the greatest country on earth.

Maddow’s “scoop” is likely to be her biggest bust of the year.
