Now That Hateful Dems Have Pruitt's Scalp, They're Going To Get Bolder
It is undeniable that of all of the top officials in President Donald Trump’s administration, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt was by far the most hated.
Almost since day one, he was targeted with hit piece after hit piece from the liberal media, former EPA bureaucrats and Democrats who hated him, with accusations ranging from unethical lodging accommodations in D.C. to his use of a security detail — in fairness, that was to protect him from the untold number of death threats he received — to allegations that he ordered EPA employees to run personal errands for him.
CNN reported Thursday morning that Pruitt was “inching forward to the tipping point” of being dismissed from Trump’s administration in light of the latest “scandal” of which he had been accused — utilizing “secret” calendars and schedules to prevent the public from gaining knowledge of his contacts and meetings with industry representatives effected by the EPA.
It would appear that the mounting pressure campaign against Pruitt’s continued role as EPA administrator finally reached that “tipping point” mentioned by CNN, as Pruitt’s official resignation was announced by Trump on Thursday afternoon.

Trump tweeted, “I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this.”
The remainder of that tweet and a follow-up tweet noted that Pruitt’s deputy, Andrew Wheeler, would take over as acting administrator and continue to press forward with Trump’s MAGA agenda as it pertains to the EPA.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, Pruitt made clear in his letter of resignation to the president that while he considered it a great “honor” to have served Trump and the country, he nevertheless felt he must step down in the face of “unrelenting attacks” on him and his family.
“Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration,” wrote Pruitt in the letter.
“Your courage, steadfastness and resolute commitment to get results for the American people, both with regard to improved environmental outcomes as well as historical regulatory reform, is in fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping achieve those ends,” he continued.
“That is why it is hard for me to advise you I am stepping down as Administrator of the EPA effective as of July 6. It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring,” wrote Pruitt.
“However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us,” he stated, revealing the truth of his departure.
“My desire in service to you has always been to bless you as you make important decisions for the American people. I believe you are serving as President today because of God’s providence. I believe that same providence brought me into your service,” wrote Pruitt.
“I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people. Thank you again Mr. President for the honor of serving you and I wish you Godspeed in all that you put your hand to,” the now-former administrator concluded.
If Scott Pruitt truly was engaged in the sort of “swampy” behavior that has been alleged by his haters and the liberal media, then it is probably a good thing that he has resigned and no longer can be used as a cudgel by Democrats against Trump and other Republicans.
However, if Pruitt’s resignation stemmed from a “sizable toll” levied on him and his family by way of the incessant onslaught of unfair and unproven allegations of ethical wrongdoing, then his resignation will only serve to embolden leftists to increase their assaults on other administration officials they have targeted for being too effective at implementing Trump’s agenda.
