Poetic Justice: Tucker Digs Up Media Matters President's Past of Staggeringly 'Bigoted' Writing

Path 27

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been slammed by the liberal group Media Matters for his old, crude comments, but Media Matters President Angelo Carusone has made exceptionally “bigoted” comments of his own.

On Sunday, Media Matters released a compilation of recording made more than a decade ago, when Carlson called in to “The Bubba the Love Sponge Show,” a shock jock radio program.

In the segments that date as far back as 2006, Carlson made what Media Matters described as “misogynistic” comments.

Carlson has been the target of leftists before, of course, but the Media Matters hit piece sparked another left-wing crusade, with keyboard warriors on Twitter promising to boycott his advertisers.

But as Carlson pointed out on his show Wednesday night, Carusone, has his own controversial past.

“Carusone runs Media Matters. Almost every day, he issues outraged press releases accusing other people of bigotry. And yet, because everything is irony, Carusone is himself an enthusiastic bigot. We know this because he’s written about it extensively,” Carlson said.

The Fox News host was referring to a blog run by Carusone in 2005, and the blog contained plenty of “bigoted” remarks.

The Daily Caller, a Washington-based news outlet Carlson co-founded in 2010,  published several screenshots of the blog in which Carusone ranted about “trannies,” “Jewish gold,” and Bangladeshis.

“One post, entitled quote, ‘Tranny Paradise,’ addressed a crime story from Thailand,” Carlson explained. “A Bangladeshi man had been robbed and assaulted by a group of male prostitutes dressed as women. Carusone objected to the idea this was even newsworthy, and ridiculed south Asians as inherently ugly and poor.”

Carusone wrote: “Is the writer a tranny lover too? Or, perhaps he’s trying to justify how these trannies tricked this Bangladeshi in the first place? Look man, we don’t need to know whether or not they were attractive. The f-ing guy was Bangladeshi…. What the hell was he doing with $7,300 worth of stuff? The guy’s Bangladeshi!”

In another blog post, Carusone criticized a Jewish man by saying his political views were influenced by “his possession of several bags of Jewish gold.”

Carusone also wrote about a Japanese scandal in which a basketball coach was accused of sexually abusing female students.

The Media Matters president suggested, “lighten up, Japs.”

I’m not going to take a page from the left’s playbook and say that Carusone himself is racist or bigoted.

Do you think liberals are hypocrites?

However, it’s undeniable that his remarks were bigoted and offensive.

Of much greater importance, though, is recognizing the left’s blatant hypocrisy.

Carusone makes a living by starting witch hunts against “bigots” and “racists,” often relying on old clips and blog posts. But he’s been throwing stones from a glass mansion.

If liberals were really concerned about old, so-called “bigoted” comments, they wouldn’t be willing participants in a witch hunt orchestrated by someone who rants about “trannies” and “Jewish gold.”

Leftists only care about destroying their political opponents — even if they must resort to blatant hypocrisy and smear campaigns.
