Secret Recording Reignites Democrat Crusade To Find 'Pee Tapes'

Share

A rather big part of the still unproven anti-Trump “dossier” supposedly compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, at the behest of Democrat-aligned opposition research firm Fusion GPS and paid for by the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee, are allegations that the Russian government holds blackmail material on President Donald Trump.

One of the allegations of such blackmail is the supposed existence of what has become known as the “pee tapes,” audio or video evidence of an alleged incident in Moscow in 2013 during which Russian prostitutes were hired by Trump to urinate on a bed once used by former President Barack Obama.

As patently absurd as such a claim is, there are sadly many on the left that seem to fully buy into the existence of such tapes, even as Steele himself suggested he was only “50/50” on the veracity of the claim and fired FBI Director James Comey once described the claim and dossier more broadly as “salacious and unverified.”

There appears to be a sudden resurgence in interest among the left about the alleged “pee tapes” in recent days in light of the shocking release of a taped conversation between then-candidate Trump and former personal attorney Michael Cohen about potential options to purchase the story of a Playboy playmate who allegedly had an affair with Trump many years prior, according to The Daily Caller.

One of those who seems convinced that the “pee tapes” really exist is Democrat South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, who stated as much when asked directly during a recent interview with Buzzfeed.

“Yes, I do. I have not seen anything that would make me come to any different conclusion,” said Clyburn with regard to his belief in the existence of the tapes.

“Whenever you see smoke you need to investigate to see whether or not there’s a fire causing it, how big the fire is, whether or not we gonna put it out or let it burn,” he continued.

“There’s a lot of smoke here, and when you see this much smoke, there’s a fire somewhere and we gotta put it out. We cannot allow it to continue to smolder because before you know it we’ll all go up in flames if we do,” added Clyburn.

Do you find it absurd that some Democrats are still searching for the alleged "pee tapes" discussed in the unproven anti-Trump dossier?

Nor is Clyburn the sole elected Democrat who seems convinced of the existence of the “pee tapes,” as The Daily Caller reported that Democrat Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley also told Buzzfeed on July 16 that he believes at least something similar to the alleged “pee tapes” truly do exist.

Buzzfeed editor Ben Smith asked Merkley, “Your view is that the pee tape is real?” to which Merkley twice replied, “Something close to that.”

Our readers no doubt recall the role Buzzfeed played in introducing the “fake news” dossier to the public on January 10, 2017, by publishing the bought-and-paid-for “unverified” collection of “salacious” claims just days prior to Trump’s inauguration.

As such, Buzzfeed is quite invested in the claims put forward by the dossier and benefit to a degree from continued discussion with regard to those details, none of which have been proven to have any basis in reality and for which Buzzfeed has been sued by Russian businessmen named in the dossier for defamation.

The liberal media outlet reportedly hired its own private investigators to try and track down and verify some of the allegations put forward in the dossier, but those efforts appear to have been unsuccessful at this point in time.

Regardless of the decided lack of evidence to support the claims of the existence of the “pee tapes,” we can see that prominent elected Democrats, not to mention a legion of liberals on social media, have wholly latched themselves onto the belief in the existence of such tapes, and are on a quest to find them and release them to the public.

In the end, this is nothing more than a disgusting effort by the left to discredit and smear Trump, but if they want to waste their time and reputations searching for the anti-Trump left’s “holy grail,” more power to them. Just don’t complain when that ridiculous effort helps get Trump re-elected in 2020.
