Top Dogs To Campaign in Georgia on Final Day Before High-Stakes Senate Runoffs

Share

Joe Biden will travel to Georgia on Monday to campaign alongside Democratic Senate hopefuls Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, the same day that President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Georgia for Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.

The events take place on the final day before Georgia’s high-stakes Senate runoffs on Jan. 5.

The races will determine which party controls the Senate.

If Democrats manage to flip both seats, they would win a slim Senate majority, giving them full control of Congress and likely of the White House.

If not, then much of Biden’s agenda could be checked by a GOP-led Senate.

The runoffs have attracted national attention, with Republicans — including Vice President Mike Pence — warning that a Democratic Senate would help take the country down the road to socialism.

Both races have set records for political fundraising and ad spending.

Ossoff and Warnock have each reported raising over $100 million since Election Day.
