Trump Promises ‘Obliteration Like You've Never Seen’ If Iran Crosses the Line
President Donald Trump hasn’t struck back at Iran — but at least they know where the line stands if they continue their bellicosity.
If you’ve been following recent events in the Middle East, you’re probably familiar with the fact that Iran almost certainly feels entitled to strike out at commercial ships from elsewhere in the world. The country also recently announced it was prepared to enrich uranium beyond the limits reached in a nuclear agreement in a 2015 deal.
This probably ought to have signaled to everyone involved that they were aboard a leaky ship, as treaties were concerned, but instead convinced the world the real problem was that the United States bailed out of said vessel before it sank. No matter. The fact that Iran shot down an American drone would solidify world opinion against Tehran.
Or not so much. Even though our favorite mullahs feel entitled to sanctions relief from the international community, they still think that shooting down one of our aircraft is OK.
It isn’t, according to President Trump — and he says that destruction is in store if Iran crosses the line.
In fact, according to the president, it will be “obliteration like you’ve never seen before.”
“But I’m not looking to do that,” Trump told Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press.”
“You can’t have nuclear weapons,” Trump said, according to NBC News.
“And if you want to talk about it, good. Otherwise, you can live in a shattered economy for a long time to come.”
These remarks came as President Trump was coming under preemptive strikes from the opposition party, a party that was busy calling Hope Hicks “Ms. Lewandowski” during hearings last week.
“President Obama made a desperate and terrible deal with Iran – Gave them 150 Billion Dollars plus I.8 Billion Dollars in CASH! Iran was in big trouble and he bailed them out. Gave them a free path to Nuclear Weapons, and SOON,” the president tweeted.
“Instead of saying thank you, Iran yelled Death to America. I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions. They are a much weakened nation today than at the beginning of my Presidency, when they were causing major problems throughout the Middle East. Now they are Bust!
….On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not….

….proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!

That’s actually something that all Americans could probably agree upon. So, needless to say, the Democrats disagreed upon it.
Donald Trump promised to bring our troops home. Instead he has pulled out of a deal that was working and instigated another unnecessary conflict. There is no justification for further escalating this crisis—we need to step back from the brink of war. https://t.co/roUHtzRlE8

Deeply concerned that @realDonaldTrump has no idea what he is doing, especially in foreign policy.
Also very troubled we are reading about these high level US decisions about Iran in the media. The national security leaks from the Trump Administration are mind boggling. https://t.co/xQ5rwOlt2x

Good work, Democrats.
That’s the basic problem, though. We pretend that there’s no issue with the Iran deal or the Iranian tack with nuclear weapons. The idea is that there must be some kind of problem with our view of Iran.
