In bygone decades the establishment media would express ever so gently that conservative America was a land filled with hateful, bigoted racists.
Throughout the 2016 election, however, and following the inauguration of President Donald Trump, those claims have only grown bolder and more aggressive.
The coming of the Trump era has ushered in one more claim: that conservative America is unhinged.
The hate and bigotry was supposedly bursting at the seams with a president in the White House that (dependent upon which left-wing commentator you asked) was either a racist or at very least permissive of hateful outbursts and public displays of aggression.
Of course, in an era in which the establishment media would tar a teenage boy as an evil hatemonger over a red hat and a smirk or look the other way as thugs in black masks beat their fellow Americans with crowbars and cement-filled milkshakes, conservatives know that the claims against them are laughable. They always have been.
Conservatives know who the truly unhinged and hateful in this nation are.
And though we hardly needed any more evidence, we were blessed with some nonetheless this weekend when the powers of the internet unearthed a video of a public tantrum thrown by far left Democratic congresswoman and “squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

The video, a forgotten artifact from the 2016 election cycle, shows Tlaib melting down as security removes her from a Detroit Economic Club meeting where then-candidate Trump was speaking.
According to Fox News, Tlaib, then a public interest attorney at Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice, had been screaming from the audience when security attempted to remove her.

Video of the incident shows Tlaib mocking and physically struggling with security as she is escorted out. She then begins skipping and jumping to hurl insults back at the crowd over the security officer on her left.
“You guys are crazy!” yelled the woman who was jumping up and down and screaming.
Somewhere behind the camera, someone responds, “You’re an animal, get a job!” as Tlaib is whisked away.
She would later explain the tantrum in a guest column with the Detroit Free Press so intellectually titled ‘Why I disrupted Donald Trump.’
That day, Tlaib explained, she had joined with “12 other brave women” to stand against candidate Trump, inspired by the example of Rosa Parks and other famed civil rights leaders.
“I have heard critics calling it unbecoming of a former state legislator. Well, I believe it is unbecoming of any American to not stand up to Trump’s hate-filled rhetoric and tactics,” she added.
Of course, neither this outburst nor any outburst since would prevent the attorney and former state legislator from rising to the role of U.S. Representative.
Nor would vowing to remove Trump from office with the brilliant call to “impeach the motherf—–” affect the freshman congresswoman’s popularity among Democratic Party faithful.
Tlaib’s statements and outbursts would be unbecoming and hateful coming from a conservative — and rightfully so — but coming from the left, they are nothing more than speaking truth to power.
This viral outburst would be played on loop by the establishment media were its central figure not a progressive heroine. Given that it was Tlaib, the video was lucky to make it out of the social media sphere and into the news media at all.
Such has been the standard for years — that these types of outbursts and explosive behaviors are par for the course with the left.
They are a rallying cry, granted a stamp of approval from the progressive mob.
And now that stamp of approval is available even for left-wing lawmakers.
