Watch: Woman Actually Asks Ted Cruz for DNA Test to Prove He's Human

Share

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was in Austin for a campaign stop Wednesday when he received a question from a woman in the crowd that was as rude as it was shocking in its display of how leftists think.

According to The Austin American-Statesman, the unidentified woman approached Cruz and read a prepared statement and question from a sheet of paper she was holding.

“I’m a woman over 50 who, as of Feb. 7, has seven active pre-existing conditions,” the woman said. “I’m not counting being female and a survivor of abuse. I purchased my individual policy on the health insurance exchange. If you force me into a high-risk pool, you will either bankrupt me or kill me.

“I take your threats of medical aggression personally and seriously and, I can assure you, I’m not the only Texan who does,” she continued. “My question is, ‘Will you pledge to submit to a DNA test to prove that you’re human?’”

The Washington Examiner reported that Cruz largely brushed off the incredibly rude personal attack from the woman and subtly suggested in his ever-polite manner that she should treat others with a bit more respect and civility.

“Well ma’am, thank you for that. You know, one of the great things about our democratic system is that we can treat each other with respect and civility,” Cruz said.

The woman still pressed the issue. “Is that a yes or a no?” she asked.

With a quick shake of his head, Cruz responded a bit more sharply. “Ma’am, if you want to engage in insults, that’s your prerogative. But I’m not going to reciprocate,” the senator said.

Do you agree with how Ted Cruz handled this heckler?

The woman continued to demand a yes-or-no answer, but Cruz only extended his hand to shake hers and politely thanked her for her attendance as he walked away.

This is the “tolerant” left in action folks, purposefully conflating a disagreement on legislative policy in regard to healthcare as a personal assault on their own health and well-being.

That purposeful life-and-death conflation by the left — not confined solely to Obamacare, but in fact applied to a whole range of liberal issues deemed priority matters — has increasingly caused some liberals to dehumanize and personally attack their ideological opponents, which is what this woman did with her ridiculous question about a DNA test.

When it comes to conservative ideology, Cruz is a conservative’s conservative, as he knows the ins-and-outs of a variety of policies and will take the time to engage just about anybody in a civil debate over the details. He fills a vital role on the political right.

But in this day and age, the increasingly vicious and intolerant left is not interested in any sort of actual debate, and folks with an unfailingly polite disposition like Cruz stand little chance of emerging victorious from the political battlefield when things turn ugly.

Contrast that with President Donald Trump, who virtually nobody would ever confuse with a conservative policy wonk, but who nevertheless is a rough-and-tumble fighter on the side of conservatives that takes no guff from anybody and will spar with anyone who throws a low-blow punch his way.

Ask yourself this: In this current era in which politics has been turned into a virtual blood-sport by leftists, would you rather have a brawler on your side that you may not always agree with, or a 100-percent agreeable and unflappably nice guy who simply can’t throw a decent punch to save his — or yours — political life?

I’ll take the rough brawler over the polite scholar any day, given the fact that the left has turned politics into a dirty life-or-death battle.
