Biden Accuser Sets the Record Straight, Says Media 'Manipulated and Distorted' Her Words

Share

The first woman to make allegations of creepy misconduct against former Vice President Joe Biden slammed the establishment media for manipulating her words.

Late last month, Lucy Flores, a former Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor in Nevada, made an accusation against Biden that triggered an avalanche of similar accusations.

Flores said that Biden came up behind her to sniff her hair, nuzzle her, and kiss the back of her head without her consent at a 2014 campaign event.

“I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified,” Flores wrote in an op-ed for The Cut.

“He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused.”

After Flores came forward, a slew of additional women came forward with their own allegations, and video evidence of Biden’s creepy behavior resurfaced.

Despite the disturbing allegations being made against Biden, the establishment media either completely ignored the news, defended Biden, or downplayed his actions.

Do you think the allegations against Biden are disturbing?

In tandem with the establishment media, Democratic politicians and liberal commentators downplayed Biden’s creepiness, sometimes by claiming he is simply being compassionate when he touches women without their consent.

But Flores was absolutely baffled at the left’s response to the allegations against Biden.

In an op-ed for Buzzfeed News, Flores said that the media “manipulated and distorted” her words to turn the Biden accusations into a discussion about hugging.

“I intended to describe what it was like to be inappropriately touched by a powerful man who would likely declare his presidential candidacy. Instead, I watched as the conversation about my essay, published in the Cut, morphed into a simplistic — and misguided — discussion of hugging in America,” Flores said.

Flores explained that the media’s coverage of Biden missed the point of her original op-ed, which was to describe “the ease with which Biden physically, and often inappropriately, engages with some of the women around him.”

“When I decided to come forward with what it felt like to be on the receiving end of Joe Biden’s inappropriate behavior, I knew I would face criticism,” she said. “I didn’t anticipate that my truth would be so easily manipulated and distorted.”

Flores also slammed pundits — like The View co-host Meghan McCain — who tried to defend Biden by pointing out their positive interactions with him.

“These positive character reviews are probably all very true, but entirely irrelevant to the women on the receiving end of his unwanted expressions of well-meaning affection,” Flores said.

“In my case, Biden’s version of a friendly hug was his hands on my shoulders, his body close to mine, from behind, smelling my hair and planting a slow kiss on my head when we had no personal relationship whatsoever,” Flores said.

But media pundits never went out of their way to extend the same benefit of the doubt to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, whose allegations were far less credible than those against Biden.

The establishment media and its political allies would love to see Biden as the next president, so they will do whatever they can to vouch for him.
