Breaking: FBI Thwarts 'Potential' Halloween Weekend Terror Attack - Multiple 'Subjects' Arrested

Share

The FBI made arrests to forestall a potential terror attack in Michigan, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.

“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come,” Patel posted on X.

“Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland,” he wrote in the Friday morning post.

Patel said the arrests ended an investigation that included federal and local partners.

“Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold,” Patel said, according to Fox News.

“The vigilance of this FBI prevented what could have been a tragic attack — and thanks to their dedication, Michigan will have a safe and happy Halloween,” he said.

Police in Dearborn, Michigan, indicated the FBI had been active there on Friday morning, according to NBC.

“The Dearborn Police Department has been made aware that the FBI conducted operations in the City of Dearborn earlier this morning,” police said in a statement.

Dearborn is located near Detroit.

Dearborn’s police department said there was currently no threat to the public.

Jordan Hall, a representative of the FBI’s Detroit Field Office, said the FBI was active in Dearborn and Inkster, Michigan, but did not provide details.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said in a statement that “This is what real law enforcement looks like — proactive, relentless, and focused on saving lives,”  according to Fox News.

“Our agents and partners in Michigan acted fast, followed the evidence, and stopped a threat before anyone got hurt. Under the leadership of Director Patel and the watch of this FBI, America is a safer place.”

“Protecting the Homeland is our top priority. We will not rest,” he said in a post on X.
