Ingraham Blasts 'Out-of-Touch Narcissist' Flake over Kavanaugh Debacle

Share

Fox News host Laura Ingraham last week blasted Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake for essentially mandating an FBI investigation into a sex assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, calling Flake an “out-of-touch narcissist.”

“The Ingraham Angle” installment came only hours after Flake, who initially said he would vote for Kavanaugh’s confirmation, insisted on the investigation before he would vote for the judge.

The reversal came after Flake was confronted by liberal activists in an elevator in the Capitol.

Ingraham said that Flake was “accosted by a liberal smear storm in the form of people who say they’ve been sexually abused” and that the senator “couldn’t stand the heat,” according to The Daily Caller.

And the FBI investigation, she said, would be a Trojan horse.

“Already, within moments, (Democrat Delaware Sen. Chris) Coons, after pushing (Flake) into doing this, Coons comes out of the Senate room and says, ‘oh no no no no, there are going to be other accusations’ — essentially, I’m paraphrasing — ‘we can’t just limit this,'” Ingraham said.

“So this was a big ruse.

“It’s not about Dr. Ford. This is about digging up new dirt or doing whatever it is they do over there to get people to come forward 36 years later.”

Moments later, she expounded on that.

“I’m sorry, but I thought Jeff Flake sounded like an out-of-touch narcissist today with these comments,” Ingraham added. “Like, ‘I’m “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” I’m going to save the whole process.’ The process was polluted by an uncorroborated allegation being used to smear a man who’s been in public life for almost three decades. So Jeff Flake, sorry, you’re a little late for that one.”

Graham was hardly the only one with a low opinion of Flake after his actions on Friday.

One high-level GOP source, speaking to The Daily Wire anonymously, said that the Arizona senator was “a pompous a– who has lost his f—— mind.”

“He betrayed the Republican Party and went full-Democrat,” the official added.

“He did not consider how his actions will affect the America that his grandchildren will grow up in and whether they will have the same freedoms that we have today.”

If it puts the Supreme Court nomination in jeopardy all for a political stunt, it certainly could put them at risk, and all because Jeff Flake says it would make him “feel better.” (Presumably about Jeff Flake and his possible 2020 presidential chances.)

If there ever was  ever a textbook definition of “out-of-touch narcissism,” it would be putting one’s own political aggrandizement over values in such an obvious way at such a crucial moment in our country’s history.
