Media Berates Conservatives Over Attack on Ocasio-Cortez That Never Happened
There is a lot to criticize New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for. I mean a lot.
When she’s not on vacation from a job she hasn’t started, she’s trying to pass legislature to kill jobs. In between that, she finds plenty of time to push distorted and outright false views on how socialism can work.
The point being, there’s just a lot of legitimately cringe-worthy material worth critiquing that emanates from the 29-year-old congresswoman. She is a socialist with far-left viewpoints in a prominent position in the federal government.
One thing that is not worth criticizing her over is a video of her dancing on a rooftop while she was a college student at Boston University.
The segments of a 2010 “Brat Pack Mashup” featuring Ocasio-Cortez were put together in a video that went viral Thursday.

Very few conservatives on social media had anything bad to say about the video. Frankly, they shouldn’t have. There’s nothing scandalous about a college student dancing around on a rooftop.
But according to the leftist media, the “right” has been ceaselessly attacking Ocasio-Cortez for the video.
That, dear readers, is quite literal fake news.
First, let’s examine this faux outrage that the leftist media have been breathlessly reporting on.
“Conservatives Mock Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez For College Dancing Video,” a Newsweek article declared.
Fast Company claimed the “video is just the latest feeble attempt by conservatives to make a gotcha moment stick to Ocasio-Cortez.”
CNN slammed conservatives for trying to “smear” her in the video.
MSNBC somehow squeezed an entire six-and-a-half minute segment about conservatives attacking her.
My response to all of these claims is simple: Where, exactly, are all of these conservatives?
I certainly haven’t heard anything from any prominent Republicans. I haven’t heard anything from anyone who remotely adheres to conservatism.
Every last one of the aforementioned leftist articles cites two people to apparently represent all of conservatism.
There is the above video from Twitter user “Dan Jordan,” who, it must be pointed out, has a Twitter photo of presumably himself holding an extraterrestrial. There is also a since-deleted tweet from “AnonymousQ1776” which read, “Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is.”
A pair of crazy conspiracy theorists does not represent conservatism.
There is a smear campaign going on, but it’s not conservatives attacking Ocasio-Cortez over her dance video. No, it’s a smear campaign from the leftist media trying to use two questionable social media accounts as representations of conservatism as a whole.
It’s a joke of a strawman argument, one that Ocasio-Cortez herself propped up Friday.
I hear the GOP thinks women dancing are scandalous.

Two random social media users are attacking Ocasio-Cortez so that means all conservatives and Republicans must be doing the same? Give me a break.
Lest any actual conservatives fall for this ruse, don’t attack Ocasio-Cortez for dancing in college. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize her.
