Share

President Donald Trump will make history on Friday, as he will become the first president ever to speak at the annual March for Life.

The president is expected to speak at the event live via satellite.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the news at a press briefing Wednesday.

“We’re excited to announce that the president will become the first sitting president to address the March for Life from the White House live via satellite,” she said. “This will take place from the Rose Garden. The president is committed to protecting the life of the unborn and he is excited to be part of this historic event.”

This is fabulous news.

Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life, said Trump has remained faithful to pro-life causes.

“Since his first day in office, President Trump has remained steadfast on his campaign promises to the pro-life cause and has actively worked to protect the unborn,” she said.

Are you glad to see that the president will be speaking at this event?

“Over the past year, the Trump administration has significantly advanced pro-life policy, and it is with great confidence that, under his leadership, we expect to see other pro-life achievements in the years to come. We welcome our 45th President, Donald Trump, to the 45th annual March for Life,” she added.

Since the 2016 presidential debates, speculation brewed on whether Trump was genuinly pro-life, but as Mancini pointed out, there is little doubt now on where the president stands on the matter.

Others expected to speak at the event include House Speaker Paul Ryan, Reps Jaime Herrera Beutler, Dan Lipinski and Chris Smith.

Vice President Mike Pence spoke at last year’s March for Life, making Pence the first sitting vice president to speak at the annual event.

The two largest March for Life rallies take place each year in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco on or near Jan. 22, which happens to be the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, when the Supreme Court legalized abortion. Many states hold their own rallies in their capitals as well.

With the Trump administration, Christian values have been represented more than they have been in years, and it is awesome to have a president stand up for the right to life.
