Video: Ilhan Omar Laughs After Being Asked To Condemn Antifa Terrorist Attack

Share

There was a domestic terrorist attack against a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement migrant detention facility in Tacoma, Washington, over the weekend where only the attacker — armed with a rifle and makeshift firebombs — was shot and killed by the police.

The man who perpetrated the attack was a known and declared member of an Antifa-affiliated leftist militia group.

His attempted assault likely was incited and spurred on by the hyperbolic anti-ICE rhetoric from progressive Democrats like New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who’ve compared ICE agents to “Nazis” and the facilities to “concentration camps.”

The mainstream media hasn’t said much about the Antifa-linked attack on the ICE facility, nor have their reporters asked congresswomen Ocasio-Cortez or Omar for their thoughts on the attack and if they would condemn the violent terrorist acts of Antifa.

Independent journalist Keean Bexte of Rebel Media, however, did ask when he encountered both of the congresswomen in the halls of the building following the conclusion of their anti-Trump media conference Monday evening, according to TheBlaze.

Unfortunately, despite repeatedly and clearly offering them the chance to condemn a violent domestic terrorist attack, neither Ocasio-Cortez nor Omar would say a word.

In fact, Omar smirked in response at first and even seemed to laugh openly about the subject as the congresswomen got into an SUV to leave the premises.

Do progressive Democrats secretly support the violent actions of Antifa?

“It’s the duo,” Bexte said as he approached the two congresswomen. He asked Omar, “Will you condemn Antifa?”

“Do you feel like you have any responsibility for their actions?” Bexte asked, and noted that Omar has similarly refused to respond when asked questions about alleged marriage fraud involving her and her brother.

“Do you feel responsible for a violent attack against an ICE facility?” he asked, only to receive a smirk in reply from a silent Omar. He asked again about her brother but similarly received no reply as she walked away from him toward the waiting vehicle.

Turning to Ocasio-Cortez, Bexte asked, “Do you feel like you bear any responsibility for what happened? Missus Cortez, do you feel responsible at all?”

The congresswomen made no reply, however, and simply got into the vehicle along with their accompanying aides.

Undeterred, Bexte asked both women, “Will you tell Americans not to be violent anymore? Antifa, to be exact.”

Neither woman said anything in response, but Omar could be seen smiling broadly and laughing, either at the question itself or some comment made with regard to the reporter from another occupant inside the vehicle.

“Should Antifa stop being violent,” Bexte asked as the last question before the door of the SUV was closed and the vehicle began to pull away.

Both women clearly heard and understood exactly what the reporter asked them, yet refused to issue any sort of condemnation whatsoever against an Antifa member’s violent attack on a government facility to further a political agenda.

RedState noted that according to Ocasio-Cortez’s “new rules” — which she has set forth previously and reiterated once again in a tweet on Monday — a refusal to condemn certain words or violent actions is tantamount to explicitly condoning such words and actions.

Granted, Ocasio-Cortez intended her new rule to be applied to Republicans in Congress with respect to President Donald Trump’s mean tweets, but anyone not afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome can see that a violent terrorist attack is worse than insensitive tweets from the president, and should be worthy of simple condemnation.

Thus, in accordance with the “new rules” and an eye toward the “equality” that progressives like Ocasio-Cortez and Omar are always hollering about, their silence in response to a question asking them to condemn a violent Antifa terrorist attack can be logically construed as condoning and supporting it and, in Omar’s case, even smirking and laughing about it.
