Watch the Moment Fiery Kellyanne Let Loose on Acosta: 'Let Me Get Back in Your Face... Smart***'

Share

Before President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address on Tuesday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway absolutely shredded CNN reporter Jim Acosta in a heated exchange.

Conway was fielding questions from outside the White House in the run-up to Trump’s speech, and she was not happy about Acosta’s question.

“Kellyanne, can you promise the president will tell the truth tonight?” Acosta said.

Conway wasted no time hitting back — and Acosta is probably regretting the exchange.

“Yes, Jim, and can you promise that you will?” Conway shot.

Check out the rest here. It’s a classic Conway moment:

As usual, Conway was right on target. CNN has had its fair share of hiccups in the past, which explains why the tag “fake news” has such resonance when it comes to the network.

Did Kellyanne Conway win in this exchange?

For example, CNN senior international correspondent Ben Wedeman tweeted a doctored photo in November with the assumption that it was real.

But Acosta is in denial about CNN’s credibility.

“I’m not the one who has the alternative facts problem like you do,” he told Conway, in an attempt to fight back.

Conway didn’t let him get away with it.

“This is why I am one of the only people around here who even gives you the time of day,” she said.

It wouldn’t be surprising if even fellow journalists wanted to avoid Acosta. He has a history of making a fool of himself.

Then Conway really took the gloves off.

“And let me get back in your face because you’re such a smart*** most of the time and I know you want this to go viral,” she said, gesturing to the media gaggle gathered around. “A lot of these people don’t like you.”

Acosta was left almost speechless and tried to recover by referring to Conway as “ma’am.”

“Don’t call me ma’am to make it up,” Conway shot back.

Exchanges like this are why liberals hate Conway so much. And why she has conservatives cheering.
