3-Year-Old Asks Mom To Wash Sticky Hands but Insists She Didn't Eat Any Cake

Share

Babies. Cakes. A messy, hilarious combination.

That’s why the “smash cake” was invented: what better way to celebrate a kid’s first years of life than to mark the occasion with a sugar high and uncoordinated cake-eating?

Part of the fun is because kids a) probably haven’t experienced the deliciousness of cake yet, and b) have no self-consciousness and no awareness of how much frosting is slathered all over them.

But once they do discover cake, they remember. And they try to score cake no matter where it is or who it belongs to.

This kiddo is a prime example of the oblivious lengths younglings will go to in order to get cake.

Her name is Juliet. She’s 3 years old. And she loves chocolate cake.

“Tell me what you need to do?” her amused mom says.

Juliet stands there quietly, hands behind her back. She seems completely unaware that there is chocolate smeared across half her face.

“Do you need to wash your hands?” her mom prompts. “Uh huh,” she responds.

“Did you eat cake?” Mom asks. Juliet responds with a quick “nope,” oblivious to the fact that she’s already given away the truth.

Again, she says she hasn’t eaten any cake. In fact, she says she’s been eating nothing — which is true if “nothing” is code for “the chocolate cake that was supposed to be for your birthday.”

All innocent smiles and denial, Juliet explains that she needs to wash her hands because they’re sticky. Why are they sticky? “From the floor,” obviously.

But she finally admits she’s been eating cake as she shows her mom her hands. She must know that the chocolate on her hands was a dead giveaway.

Despite the tall tales this little cutie was telling, mom helps her get to the sink and wash off her hands. Juliet will probably appreciate this video when she gets older and realizes how unconvincing her story was!
