Mom Takes Adorable Pics of Baby Daughter Dressed as Female Icons

One of the fun parts about having kids is being able to dress them up. While they still have no interest in what they’re wearing, mom has free range to select whatever she’d like for her little ones.

That’s half the fun of a baby shower: oohing and ahhing over all the doll-sized get-ups and outfits.

It’s probably also a bit of what’s behind those who find Toddlers and Tiaras entrancing. The glitz, the glam — what little girl wouldn’t want to dress like a princess every day?

Well one mom has taken the dress-up idea and gone in a different direction. Jenelle Wexler has been featuring her handiwork and her daughter Liberty’s amenable behavior on Instagram.

It started with Frida Kahlo. Kahlo is one of Wexler’s favorite artists, so she thought why not dress up her daughter like the famous woman?

She had to assemble the clothing and headpiece, but the final product was not only strikingly accurate, it was ridiculously adorable.

After getting a favorable response to the first try, the industrious mom decided to keep on with it, and now her daughter has sported dozens of different outfits.

The looks are so characteristic that it’s easy to see which leading ladies the girl is dressing like.

Influential woman Pt 10: Audrey Hepburn ?? A British actress, model, dancer and humanitarian. Recognised as a film and fashion icon, Hepburn was active during Hollywood’s Golden Age. She was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third-greatest female screen legend in Golden Age Hollywood, and was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. “We come up with the idea and then I research the woman that I’m portraying,” Wexler said, according to People. “Then, I figure out their bio and what outfit I can come up with that is best going to portray the reference picture that I’m using. Then, my mind gets busy figuring out what kind of costume I can make her.”

Mom says that Liberty has no idea what’s happening, but seems pretty content with the whole process.

“I try to make as much as I can during nap time or when the kids go to bed,” Wexler said. “Then, it’s usually ready first thing in the morning that I take the photos of her.”

“It’s really awesome to know that something that’s just a hobby of mine is bringing a lot of people joy.”

But not only are people being entertained by Wexler’s creativity and her daughter’s cuteness, they’re learning about influential women of the past, too.

“But I’m having a lot of other people say, ‘I’m learning. You’re teaching me something. I just learned something today,’ and that, for me, is really neat,” Wexler said.
