Bride-To-Be Takes 'Should've Been' Wedding Photos After Fiancé Killed in Accident
We’ve seen some creative and viral photos on social media in recent times. Seems like photographers are coming up with more unique ways to capture memories and bring families closer together.
One photographer from Arizona, however, just might have come up with the most unique — and touching — thing we have seen to date.
Bride-to-be Debbie Gerlach was looking forward to her wedding day, set for Nov. 11, 2018. She shared her story in a heartbreaking post on Facebook.
“Today was supposed to be the best day of my life. Today was supposed to be the day I married my best friend,” her post begins.
“I was supposed to wake up, put on my wedding dress and walk down the [aisle] to the man of my dreams. Today, in front of all of our family and friends Randy & I were going to express our love for each other once again…”
Her post goes on to talk about her fiancé, Randy Zimmerman. How he was in a motorcycle accident that changed the course of this couple’s life forever.
“Today I will not marry the love of my life. Today I will not have a husband…”
According to KOLD News 13, the 25-year-old motorcyclist collided with a 1998 Jeep Cherokee on Feb. 1.
Gerlach’s words are so important. She shared “drive with care because you never know whose whole world is on that bike.”
Now photographer Kristie Fonseca of Iso VP Studios has helped Gerlach create the wedding photos she should have taken.
The photos have gone viral and it’s clear why. Gerlach stands in her gorgeous gown, a blushing and hopeful bride.
But someone else is in several of the photos too. Thanks to Fonseca, this grieving woman was able to have a keepsake memory of the man she lost.
Stunning. What this photographer has done is amazing and more than likely will inspire others who have experienced similar tragedies to create something similar.
“You know she was in love, you know she was happy,” Fonseca told KOLD. “And for her to put on that genuine smile after and still going through her loss, touched me… I saw it, I saw it, deep in her.”
We can see it too. Our hearts are with Gerlach as she grieves and remembers the love of her life during this time.
