Parents Send Kids into Auto Shops for Blinker Fluid, Leave Internet Crying with Laughter

Share

Everyone loves a good prank, right? That is, unless, the prank is being pulled on you.

I used to get fuming mad whenever my dad would play a joke on me. He’d always tell me I’d have my turn, and that one day, I too would be laughing at my children.

Though my kids aren’t quite old enough for pranks of the viral persuasion, it’s certainly fun to watch other parents fool their children. Especially when they’re teenagers.

In recent years, one prank in particular has gone completely viral. Seems like every parent of a teen likes to pull this one.

Maybe because this one never gets old. Have you ever heard of blinker fluid?

According to Urban Dictionary, blinker fluid is “an imaginary liquid used in automobiles (to make the blinkers work)…” In fact, you can even find coupons for the stuff.

If you’ve read this far, you might know what’s coming next. If you know anything about cars, and even if you don’t, you most likely at least know blinker fluid doesn’t exist.

Which is why these parents are so hilarious. Watch as they send their kids into different stores, only to see them come out with red cheeks and empty hands.

I don’t know what’s better. Witnessing these teens falling for it, or listening to the parents break into fits of laughter.

This prank seems to have no end in sight. One YouTuber has even taken the joke to the next level by creating a “how to” video for those interested in changing their own blinker fluid.

“If your mechanic tells you he needs to service your blinker fluid… he’s totally ripping you off,” the voice behind ChrisFix explains. “…you could totally do this at home…”

Would you play this joke on your kids? I know I might just have to try it — once they’re old enough to drive, of course.
