Little Squirrel Goes on Office Rampage, Moments After Capture Frees Itself Once Again

Share

Watching wildlife can be a relaxing way to unwind and connect with nature. Birds hop along tree branches, bunnies burrow under lilac bushes and all seems right with the world.

Of course, sometimes the animals watch us right back. This can also be mildly amusing.

What’s not so amusing is when those cute-from-a-distance creatures come right inside our personal space. Spying a furry rodent as it scurries across the linoleum can make you feel pretty … squirrelly.

Case in point: a hysterical situation that recently earned top honors from “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” It involves a tiny squirrel, and some seriously freaked out office personnel.

The brief action was posted on Facebook and lasts just slightly longer than a minute. The humans sure manage to pack a lot of panic into that super-short window of time.

This snippet opens in the middle of a frantic search. It seems the hapless squirrel has somehow found its way into a local business, concealing itself behind storage boxes and filing cabinets.

Two gentlemen proceed to tear apart sections of the room, searching for the furry intruder. The woman operating the camera narrates nervously.

Have you ever had to chase a creature through your office?

Suddenly, the squirrel makes a break for it. One of the men hollers, “Jimmy, here he comes!”

Sure enough, their fluffy visitor frantically darts across the carpet. The woman screams, and the camera angle goes every which way.

Once things calm down, the office colleagues embark upon round two. Both men crouch on the floor, peering into corners for any sort of movement.

In a surprise move, the squirrel suddenly sprints toward a window. One alarmed man tries to trap it with a box cover, to no avail.

Meanwhile, the tiny trespasser has made its way toward the staircase. Finally, the tireless team manages to corner the creature as it scampers onto the landing.

“Don’t let go,” the anxious female camera operator pleads. One of the male office workers carefully lifts up the squirrel, gently cradling it between his gloved hands.

And once the animal is subdued, everyone finally realizes how petite and adorable it really is. “Awwwww,” the entire team says, as the man climbs back up the stairs.

The heroic rescuer decides to demonstrate this lovableness for the entire world to see. “Now look at him,” he coos, holding the wee critter toward the camera.

“Awwww, little squirrel,” the female recording the video says. And at that exact moment, the teeny rascal makes one more wild leap for freedom.

The woman’s horrified shriek is epic as she hurls the camera straight into the air. Everyone involved cracks up and all of social media is still laughing right along with them.
